If this is the case then it shouldn't stop them announcing him because it regularly happens with players being signed from abroad.
Maric wouldn’t look very impressive on a bureaucratic level (no senior roles etc) but then he was at Leeds not too long ago. Le Bris struggling because he’s now a second division manager?
Sad to see this sort of stuff starting already, before he's even been appointed (which I think he will be). He stands no chance from the off.
Stole this off OTR , to stop endless rumours, frustration and general anger towards the club, wouldn't they be best leaking this to say The Athletic or something to say agreement in place for X and Y pending work permit?
Announcing players is slightly different as the Home Office have agreed a specific threshold / points system which gives a level of confidence of players being granted a work permit.
Such a system doesn't exist for non-playing staff, so there's no guarantee of success.
I doubt we'd be getting frustrated at the process of renewing a permit for Cifuentes considering he already has one and the job change is at the same level.

You need to reapply to change your permit if you move employers.
You'd think this is when stuff will start to leak with other parties and agencies involved, surely this is how journalists pick these things up, work permit applications
