Wouldn’t blame Rigg for a second if he leaves. Hope he doesn’t, but we’re a basket case at the minute
Seeing the club have said happy birthday to every ex player they can think of, I really hope they say it to Riggy today. And ideally with a pen to sign!!
I think I know - here goes “likely to occur at any moment” or “forthcoming, immediate, impending, inevitable, looming, probable, unavoidable”. Take your pick, but any of these meanings certainly precludes what we have here, we have been waiting for an imminent announcement for what, 10 days now?
It's quite amazing how nothing is leaking out. I mean I know we all joke, but the club are clearly working on finding/interviewing/appointing someone but there is **** all in the media - barely even any speculation when you'd expect some names to be thrown about by The Athletic, or Sky Sports. Not even Fishpaste has tossed his coin
This worries me more than it gives me confidence too. If it's Cifuentes I'm very shocked that only Nixon has heard of interest and there is nothing on QPR's end.
Even the people who get decent info have said things aren’t getting out as much these days. Fair enough imo and well done the club if they’re able to keep things in house. I think this week will be the one where we start hearing legitimate news.
It has to be. It really has. I know I keep banging on about it but starting preseason with Dodds in charge is just an awful look. It might not affect the season in any way, but it just makes us (the club) look incompetent.
There's conversations going on off the board. People are just keeping it that way because things are constantly changing and it seemingly looks like egg on faces when the posts are moved, lads can't be bothered with the jibes and digs, but mainly not to get peoples hopes up.The clubs grafting away to get it sorted and not just through the reported Zoom interviews. Reps of the club are travelling to people and not just expecting them to come to us. It's frustrating but the Swan is grafting below the water line.
Maybe they are just not going to tell us anything Everyone just goes off and chills for the summer turn up first game to a new manager and new team Would save all the bollox in between to be honest.
I think after the whole ‘succession planning’ patter from Speakman then you’re absolutely right. The timing won’t matter in the grand scheme of things if they get it right, but I think we all expected a quicker turnaround.
Is it just the nature of being outside the Prem that no one except us really cares? Surely there's scope for a decent piece looking into what has gone on, what the process has been, who we've really spoken to and the barriers we've faced in appointing them. Would seem right up the Athletic's street to me.
Agreed. I mean even if you have a list of coaches, not all of them are accessible or even willing to join, but conversations can be had and agents sounded out. To have gone nearly 7 weeks without appointing someone if pretty poor, especially with preseason a couple of weeks away. Speakman is full of ****
