Never used spec savers, so can’t comment on them, but I’ve had similar prescriptions (short sighted so just wear them for driving, TV and City) and used Vision Express who have been really good and never had headaches.
They seemed to spend a lot of time drawing dots on things and making sure the exact height was right so the middle of the ‘seeing through bit’ (I know a bit about these things so apologies for using technical terms) was at the right height by adjusting the ‘hanging on the ears sticks’
On the lights issue when watching telly you’re better if you get anti glare lenses but obviously that costs a little more.
On the plus side I’ve had mine for years and last time I went my sight was getting slightly better! Weird but I do use them less now
give it a while to get used to them, but then get angry and go in and kick off if they still hurt you...or go somewhere else (and I agree with previous poster that even if you get glasses made on the same prescription some will seem better than others, I suspect simply due to the different lens shape)
Good luck Mr Magoo

You can't be to careful, dangerous things Christmas does, have you considered a high visibility jacket, hard hat and safety boots?Just got to the hotel for our Christmas do tonight & realised I’ve left work wearing my safety glasses.

It did just come to me thatTen days ago after a routine eye test , I was diagnosed with a very mild short sightedness and prescribed some very low prescription glasses for driving, watching TV etc . I have been wearing for 9 days now and just have constant headaches while I do . I have contacted spec savers 3 times now, and been told 3 different things by different people - from its normal , to it definitely shouldn’t happen . Internet as usual is full of helpful contradictory advice , and unfortunately most my family and mates don’t wear them . Any help on here? Will it settle down ? Am I dying? I have read that it can be as simple as the frames are too heavy for my weird head shape , anybody had a similar issue with a solution?
Too busy preparing the 2019 quizathon chazz to be reading this board ..It did just come to me that
Does DJ’s dad read this board?

Picture round , music , sport ,general knowledge , usually soaps - to piss my brother in law off as he’s never watched one, I secretly suspect my dad doesn’t like himCan we have some more info on the quiz?
categories? How many questions is there a tie break?
What sort of style is your dad as quizmaster?
Bradders? Brucey? Larry Grayson?
Not sure there is a quiz host on the Tele to compare him too , I’ve never seen Bradley Walsh get angry with people for daring to question the answers , and ignore any constructive criticism by talking loudly over them
He can’t see your questionEveryone is waiting! How did the new spectacles work today?
Ha, good to be fair - turns out the goalkeepers at the other end have arms and legs and aren’t just wobbly blobs after all .Everyone is waiting! How did the new spectacles work today?
My sight sounds similar to yours, so about 3 months ago was prescribed lenses to sharpen up for driving/ reading. The optician did say it was marginal whether I needed them, and to be honest, I can't decide if it helps or not. As well as fading eyesight, my memory has deteriorated so forget to put them on! Denis suggested I trialled them at City (I'm in E2 so struggle a bit to see action around the South Stand ), probably because I was talking the usual bollox in my match analysis. I can't decide if it's an improvement, and again keep forgetting to take them. I do hate wearing them, so maybe kid myself my eyesights no better.Going to pop in so they can check the lense, I think so tho cos it definitely sharpened up the long range sight . Just pisses me off that everybody at specs says different , tried to speak to the actual optician but the guard dogs won’t put me through despite me explaining they all seem to be guessing
Does your sight and memory loss ever coincide with your alcohol intake? My sight sounds similar to yours, so about 3 months ago was prescribed lenses to sharpen up for driving/ reading. At the same time, was prescribed stronger lenses for reading. I was aware this had deteriorated but did manage limited reading. Three months later, I can't read a thing without them, so seemed to have deteriorated quite rapidly.
Being able to sleep in them means not poking your eye twice a day, being able to see if woken at night and not looking for your glasses and same in the morning. I find them very comfortable and often forget I'm wearing them. Why on earth would you want to sleep in them?
It's easy to forget that wearing contact lenses damages your memory - serious side effect.Being able to sleep in them means not poking your eye twice a day, being able to see if woken at night and not looking for your glasses and same in the morning. I find them very comfortable and often forget I'm wearing them.
