Kemps. This is not true. It’s like the old wives tale about rabbits not wearing glasses cos they eat carrots. Also not true. It’s because rabbits don’t live to be old and also don’t read books that they don’t wear glasses at all.You definitely need to use a better optician, DJ.
Have you tried eating more Carrots? Carrots are good for your eyes.

This could probably be a good argument for ditching wives when they get too old and get a newer model that obviously don’t talk as much ****e....Kemps. This is not true. How bad are your eyes?
Are you sure you saw an optician?
Lots of shops look similar, whilst usually quite helpful, charity shop workers, butchers, greengrocers and the like are not qualified in giving advice on issues involving eyes.
Regarding the headaches, do you stand in front of a dart board?
Is your hat too tight?
Have you been drinking heavily?
Hope this helps... I’ll keep an eye to the RIP thread .
Good luck and merry Christmas (hope you make it)![]()

The carrot thing started in WW2. We didn’t want the Germans to know we had such a good radar system so it was put about the success of night fighter pilots was down to their good eyesight which was due to eating a lot of carrots,
Bryan Legate, assistant curator at the Royal Air Force Museum in London - “I would say that whilst the [British] Air Ministry were happy to go along with the story [of carrot-improved vision], they never set out to use it to fool the Germans,” Legate says. “The German intelligence service were well aware of our ground-based radar installation and would not be surprised by the existence of radar in aircraft“.
Never used spec savers, so can’t comment on them, but I’ve had similar prescriptions (short sighted so just wear them for driving, TV and City) and used Vision Express who have been really good and never had headaches.
They seemed to spend a lot of time drawing dots on things and making sure the exact height was right so the middle of the ‘seeing through bit’ (I know a bit about these things so apologies for using technical terms) was at the right height by adjusting the ‘hanging on the ears sticks’
On the lights issue when watching telly you’re better if you get anti glare lenses but obviously that costs a little more.
On the plus side I’ve had mine for years and last time I went my sight was getting slightly better! Weird but I do use them less now
give it a while to get used to them, but then get angry and go in and kick off if they still hurt you...or go somewhere else (and I agree with previous poster that even if you get glasses made on the same prescription some will seem better than others, I suspect simply due to the different lens shape)
Good luck Mr Magoo
