I can't see the point in getting negative. You win a football match, you lose a football match. And no promotional chickens counted either. Next season, if we win enough we may win the league. Yep funnily enough, that's how it happens. You might say, why are you writing something stupid like that TSS, when you know [if promoted] that we won't win the league..?
Well, I'm writing it so that, if we are in a position, far above expectation, just like this season, that if we fail to achieve what was unlikely in the first place, we don't read from anyone saying that this player is rubbish or that player is crap, or that bloody Adkins has suddenly never been any good or he's lost the dressing room [I hate that cliché]. Those people who have written similar things over the season, after the odd slip-up by the team, know who they are. This team has staggeringly over-achieved this season. The same team, the core of which was the same as in League One, will almost certainly be there, and they will need support like never before. There's disappointment and there's being downright negative. The best we can do is encourage, not undermine the confidence. It gets to the players, be in no doubt. As does our enthusiasm and passion, even if it is written on a forum.
