I think they're both excellent. I have voted Clyne simply because he is a FB, who can play left or right and be superb on either side. Chambers just happens to be able to play at RB, like Jack Cork, for example, but he's a super player who can fill in at various positions down the right side of central, in midfield or defence. I'd like to see Calum groomed to play in other positions for the team. Yes, that'll be difficult because he'd be pushing others out, but he can always play in those positions when there are injuries to others. He's much more versatile than just being a Right Back.

And neither would disgrace an England shirt right now.
 
Voted for Nate, alround he is better. Nate poses more of a goal threat and should probably be in the England squad along with Flanagan. It says alot for the ability of Chambers that he is slightly behind Nate yet has played 180 or so games less
 
Very tight decision, I thought Calum's performance against Corzola was exceptional and no doubt has led to the story about Arsenal sniffing around.
For me Nat is slightly quicker and better going forward. More experienced and that shows in a lot of his play especially his timing going forward. Weakness is his lack of height and defending in the air.
Calum is much stronger in the air (& is much taller) his defending to me is stronger than Nat but needs a lot of work on his crossing and forward play but this will come with time, experience and good coaching

Chambers played rb,rm and cm on the youth he didn't play cb. He can easly play there now. But I can only really see him playing there if we don't have any other choices as you said. Add to that we have more youngsters coming through that can play rm better then him. It's good he is versatile but can't see it being used much.
 
Its a difficuilt one as they both have different strengths, why not bring one on further up the field if we find ourselves ahead away from home, bit of added cover and chance to add to our limited attacking options. Just a thought.

Would improve his game alot if he was to play CB with Lovren, probably not the short term plan but his defending does need a bit polishing

What are you on? He is one of our most exciting players. He is more attack-minded than both JWP and arguably Shaw.

Easier to look attack minded when coming from a deeper position. It's essentially running forwards
 
Both are fantastic but clyne has the experience and (atm) is quicker. Its tempting to suggest calum will have a higher ceiling because he is younger but doesn't always work out that way. Clyne will improve too.
We're very lucky to have both, i hope we can keep them.

Their both young, so it's very hard to say. Clyne's more the finished article as things stand, but that doesn't mean he can't improve.

The trouble for all our FBs is that they do get forward, but the rest of the team is playing through the middle so they just get marooned on the touchline or herded into blind alleys. Both Clyne and Shaw showed some willingness to take defenders on late in the 2nd half yesterday, and looked threatening when they did. Clyne had the advantage that Steven Davis was willing to drop in behind him and track back if needed. No one really does that for Shaw which might explain why we got caught out by Odemwingie. Thing is with FBs, they can never stop being defenders.
 
I prefer Chambers as I think he's the better footballer. Clyne is quicker and I think he's the better defender but he's a bit hesitant on what to do going forward and I don't think he has the natural ability that Chambers has.
