So with not long left in the window and rumours we have limited funds.
Who do we want/need.
I'd like to see Phillips and Austin from QPR and that defender from Celtic.
Problem is, I can see that costing us about £26-£28m.
 
Always like Matty Phillips and would love him here. Would also like Nathan Dyer from Swansea.

Controversial one but Jose Enrique. Proven quality left back got no future
At Liverpool. They want rid so we should stick a cheeky low offer in as they want him off the wage bill.

Marcos Alonso alternatively, if he was aavailable at a decent price.

It'll never happen due to medical but CharlieAustin would be a superb signing.

Hoping theDe Guzman deal happens as hes the missing link in Dick's 4-3-3

Essential:
ST - Austin
ACM - Dembele / De Guzman
LB - Alonso / Enrique
CB - Evans / Vin Dijk

Desirable:
FWD/WNG - Borini/Phillips

That's what I think we need.

Unfortunately, will cost us in the region of £40-50m which I cant see us spending.

Though Im hoping Short comes out and splashes the cash, just to prove all of those who doubt him are wrong.

Talk is that Enrique's legs have gone altogether hence the reason for him being outcast, read that on the Liverpool transfer rumours thread a few days back when we were linked with Borini.
 
Better performance yesterday, we were still very average, only Pants kept us in the game, PVA all over again, centre backs let so many free headers happen, yet to be convinced about M,Vila only 2nd game I know but nothing impressive yet, Lens caused bother but couldn't,t beat 1st man with crosses most times. As I said, an improvement but a long way to go, LB, AM, ST we are desperate for

I agree I would love Austin but he would fail our medical

I suppose it comes down to whether his brain can counter for the lack of legs. In the same way PVA's pace sometimes counters for his complete lack of brain!

Surprised no one's been linked with Ashley Cole yet. Must be a Congerton link and he could teach PVA his trade!

The thought entered my head on that one mind, but I'd imagine he's back to London and despite his age still daft money.

He looked alright still the few times I seen a bit of him at Roma I wonder what's gone on there.

Me too, I think the money will stop him going to most places. Although he must have taken a cut to go to Roma? Would be an interesting one.

Yeah a massive cut I would have thought, only Juve are paying big wages and even they aren't close to English levels.

He'll end up at Palace or summat I should imagine.
 
Just watched the match (on to late here when I need to be up at 4am for a 12hr shift), and have to say we looked alot better. Still way to many passes going astray though. Lens tho looks the goods, him on one side and AJ on the other and we will be a bit more threatening. Mvilla looks good, once he gains fitness. Coates made some fantastic tackles on Montero, looks alot more composed with JoS. Pva is looking a liability. Needs replaced until he can work on his defensive duties.

We still desperate need a few more quality faces in, if we lose lens to suspension or injury, we look toothless.

Think Southampton look set to sign van dijk so...

Can't see us signing another centre back anyway.

Cam is a must and I think Defoe will score plenty of goals this season anyway.
Pato would be a class signing.
