The 'on topic' stuff in there is great. The italian comments and twitter tweets are intriguing. The fools calling each other 'bellpiece' and other names spanning several pages at a time are very very annoying and show the level of maturity and intellect amongst many of our fellow Saints fans!!!

Those few members could inform each other of their facebook pages and talk non-sense chav stuff and insults there instead. And no I am not on facebook. I have no time for anything else due to the incredibly high number of wasted pages on a Saints board.....Oh and running my business ;)

That's kind of what I mean about the age thing. I think a little tolerance needs to be shown. You are 37 i'm 33, not too many years ago (well more than I'd like to admit) I would be on here calling someone a bellpeice too. If nothing else, it showed creativity. <laugh>

Unfortunately unless every thread was separated in to age groups (which I'm not suggesting by the way), you are going to have things digress and get a bit silly (which I'm not totally adverse to anyway). This is why having someones age published may stop the sniping a little. People may just go "ahh, he's just a kid, he'll learn" or "ahh, he's just a miserable old bastard, who's forgotten how to have fun and this is his only solice from his wifes nagging, we'll just ignore it" or something like that. <laugh>

A few years ago when I was younger I was out getting sloshed talking to real people face to face not sat in front of a PC all night long!!! A modern problem I suppose that no-one knows how to talk face to face anymore but I don't mind a little banter here and there on the forum. pages and pages of garbage though?

I'm not saying it should be purely a forum of well thought out, well spoken and a rigid on topic policy, just that people remember they are not the only 3 or 4 people on the board when they decide to have a 'conversation' over 5 pages of a thread (multiple times making 30-40 pages) without considering that others are actually pretty excited by the prospect of Ramirez and want to find out news!!!

And you don't mention the pictures containing swear words? 2 more tonight in the rumours thread I see ;) Maybe someon reported them before I did!!!
 
Agreed. The mods do great job. This board has got really petty recently with lots of people bitching at each other. The mods here seem pretty easy going to me. Does any one not remember what the old 606 site was like??!
 
My gf wouldn't allow me to go out drinking, she's to busy spending my cash on making my flat "less of a shag pad" apparently. :(

I still don't know who you're referring to when you say chavs. And you can expect the grammar nazi posts if you're going to try and be Mr. High-and-mighty Intellectual.
 
I don't comment on grammar and read above I haven't there either. I am not talking about the text speak although very annoying. I am talking about people wasting 5 pages of space having an off topic back and forth conversation.

Any way that is a typo. No idea why there is a hyphen in there. Only noticed it when you said. Anyways I've given my opinion and now the next 5 posts will be 'see ya' etc.

I'm referring to your "level of maturity and intellect" comment. That's an insult, and an inaccurate one at that.
 
I don't see it that way. I see it as people not thinking of others. Of thinking sod the rest I'll do what I like which is basically what children do. That is until they start to get to the stage that they understand respect and by the hand of moral guidance become mature adults, respectful of others, understanding that what they say and do affects others and that it isn't a world where they do what they please.

So if it seems like I am preaching then 'hands up'. I may offend you with some of my comments however on this board as others and in life I try to be respectful of others and not barge through life saying 'you don't like it, tough'.
 
Living in Serbia there's not a lot of news about Southampton - so yippee here comes not606 and I'm being kept updated - then gradually the quality starts to deteriorate - now it's absolute rubbish - just childish bickering - everyone who's been banned should be - it's boring - if only they could talk about football and our beloved club. I'll look back in a few weeks to see if it's improved - in the mean time I'm off - cue responses ending in off!

That doesn't justify you calling people unintellectual and "chavs". I consider those comments to be lacking in maturity, funnily enough.

Joe - My view is the title of this thread and like the title what I write is my view. I do not swear or viciously attack anybody nor name anybody so all I can say is if the Burberry cap fits!!! Did I personally say you were a chav or unintellectual??? No YOU decided that I was referring to you so why attack me for the comment when it is in YOUR mind?

Sweeping generalisation it was but like I say I named nobody

Anyways enough of petty bickering. All I ask is that people respect the swear filter. That's my main gripe.
