With Campbell out all season and Gordon out for first part, Mensah looking like a non starter, do we need..

Goalkeeper
2 strikers

before we even start looking at who we need to grow, if you know what I mean.

If yes then we need decent quality so how much will we have to spend in total?

I dont know the answers but think I know a man, or two, maybe a woman who will know,

a left back, if not welbeck permanently at least 3 strikers + 2 full backs played in correct positions

Cut the injuries out and I think we have the midfield

Whether we get that amount of money to spend is doubtful
 
I don't think we need another keeper as Gordon is scheduled to be back in training by mid August, not October as was originally feared. The money is needed for the following positions....

RB - Hutton?
LB - Warnock?
CB - Samba?
LW - Jarvis? (though I think N'Zogbia is nailed on)
2 x CF - Pav & Bendtner?

Probably looking at the best part of £35m to sign this lot though!
 
I personally dont think we have the money to buy players for each area needed in the team, priorities are 2 strikers and Welbeck on loan for another season will plug the gap.

Next on the list has to be a left back and left midfielder but then you have Nedum, Elmo & Muntari to think about. If one things become clear its not to forget who we are, we are not Barcelona so attracting players is difficult and we must go into next season not expecting top 6.
 
unfortunately, strikers are the most expensive,

so if we need two, is it a top class one and a medium one,

or two somewhere in the middle?

Given is very injury prone now mate the shoulder he knackered playing for us is still causing him problems so would say no.
Warnock yes don't think he's getting his game lately so a good call.
Downing not sure but, would politely turn us down would prefer to stay at Villa.
 
If we did go for a goalkeeper how about McGregor of Rangers. With their financial problems and if the takeover bid doesn't happen they will be desperate for money so they could let him go quite reasonably.
 
I just think we need a better squad. improvement all round.

First thing though is another 20goal a season striker. In another thread someone said something about a player who will "score 20 goals with his arse" i whole hearteldly agree.

Secondly, i think we need Left wing. not sure on nzog....think he can be a bit hit and miss. But im not sure who else we could get without going abroad for someone unproven in the prem.

Of course it also depends on whether bruce will be here in the summer or not. Its not a sure fire thing that he will be here.
 
Every transfer window no matter if you are Sunderland, Hartlepool, Barcelona whoever you always need to improve.

For me we desperately need 3 yes 3 strikers

Fraizer is out for ages so forget about him and that just leaves us with Gyan, sign 3 and then what has happened this season will be prevented in the future.

After that not sure, let Brucie work his magic in the transfer market
 
I think we might see a bit more of Noble next season, along with the loan of Welbeck. Add Gyan to that and one big signing.
Sign up Onuoha, play him at CB, sign Hutton and a LB.
Left winger, loads of good ones about. My preference would be the P.S.V lad Dszack(spelling), but wouldn't cry at Downing or Zog.
 
We won't sign N'Zogbia. We've been linked with him every transfer window in the past 2/3 years, if he was going to come he would have come.

Forwards have been all been talked about but i do think we deffo need 2

SB will need about 35-40m but we do have 24m from the sale of Bent
 
I think we should not be looking for any more from Africa because next year we will lose them for around 2 months for the African Cup of Nations.
