IMO I think it will prove to be a bad move for Gerrard. As it has been mentioned, he has little chance of knocking Celtic off their perch, and if he doesn't, being English he will start to get dogs abuse from the great unwashed fans (Gers).

Strange really , who knows if he'll be any good , it's just a gamble on somebody who was a very good player

I think rangers have done what we did with slutsky. Hoping he gets good loans in due to contacts.

Gerard couldn't settle in LA FFS how's he going to get on in that ****hole

gerrard will not be hated for being english whatsoever
he's already created more buzz around rangers than there has been for absolutely years

ridiculous amounts of people were waiting outside ibrox, i even know a couple that left work just to go ibrox for the buzz

it's a master appointment

he's not expected to catch celtic, 1st place spl %prize money is so much higher to 2nd place than 1st place prem is to 2nd

celtic won't be caught for a long time no matter the manager
they are too far ahead

if gerrard wins ONE old firm match, he has already done what's expected of him

the last time rangers beat celtic in a proper match was 2012 when mcgregor and aluko played

and since then it's been
3-0 / 2-0 / 1-1 / 5-1 / 0-1 / 1-2 / 1-1 / 2-0 / 1-5 / 0-2 / 0-0 / 2-3 / 4-0 / 5-0

with only draws being on rangers side in 6 years apart from 1 penalty shoot out win

it's humiliating

GOAL Hibernian 3-3 Rangers
Bruno Alves

Incredible. Utterly incredible. Hibs were 3-0 up inside 22 minutes, and that advantage has been emphatically wiped out by a resurgent Rangers. Replacement Bruno Alves curls home a sumptuous free-kick from 20 yards to level the scores. What will happen next in this end-of-season thriller?

Hibs 4-5Rangers now
Indeed

It's not over yet. Some Hibs fans were leaving the stadium, now they're racing back to their seats. Florian Kamberi finds striker partner Jamie Maclaren in the box, and the Australian lashes home his second of the afternoon first-time.
