I do now, but 'alrite pal' is what us Geordies sayYi deeant get it do yi pal

I don’t know the MSD people myself but I have a friend who works for a different private equity firm in Santa Monica. My understanding is that there was a deal. But like any deal, it is subject to due diligence and nothing is complete until it is final. The main issue is that, as I was motivated to say in my original post, SD massively overpaid for SAFC. So the only way a deal could have gotten done would have been for SD to write off £10m or so.
Maddrox is basically worth zero. It has a lot of debt and one asset which is bleeding cash. The correct price for the club was closer to zero plus the parachute payments not £15m plus the parachute payments.
That is the main issue. The MSD guys aren’t going to pay the sort of price that would see SD break-even, let alone turn a profit. The only way SD can get his money back is if SAFC can get into the Championship and then someone probably would be prepared to pay enough to cover the money SD has put in and pay off the debt.
So people should get off SD’s back. His interests are the same as the fans. What I think he has realised is that he doesn’t have enough cash to guarantee promotion and he is already looking at a £10m hit. He can’t afford to lose £20m. So the £10m from MSD is a halfway-house. If that money is enough to get SAFC into the championship, then maybe the club is worth £40m+. That is enough to pay off the debts for Madrox and have a tiny bit left over. If he can’t get the club promoted, then Madrox will be bankrupted and be taken over by the MSD guys.
So MSD will end up taking over regardless in two years. The only question is whether SD loses his shirt or breaks even. The fans should be hoping he breaks even as that would mean promotion.
For MSD, the price is either £10m or £40m, depending on which league they are buying it in. It probably suits both sides. Easier to justify investing fresh capital into a championship side.
So you can all lay off SD and lay off SmuginBoots as well. MSD have given SD a chance to break even which is fair enough, he didn’t pick the club up for nothing - which is the whole issue, he overpaid. And Smug was correct but the sands shifted. The takeover will still happen - just will be a couple of years away.
I have probably said too much. I only created an account as the misinformation about SD was annoying me too much. Will probably delete it now. Feel free to ignore this if you like, not a problem. I am just looking forward to the next series on Netflix, it will be entertaining.
good luck you mad Mackems. It’s been emotional.
Is the wedding off yet?"So you can all lay off SD and lay off SmuginBoots as well. MSD have given SD a chance to break even which is fair enough, he didn’t pick the club up for nothing - which is the whole issue, he overpaid. And Smug was correct but the sands shifted."
Everything I was told came from a very good friend and ex-employer, who happens to be a multi-millionaire, and secondly a close friend of one of FPP.
Nothing was I was told was 'in confidence' so I happily posted it. At the time it was openly talked about, by FPP, as 'a done deal' and one in which Donald acquiesced. This is why a company was allowed, by Donald, to be registered using the SOL as the address with Companies House.
As far as I've been informed things progressed, through due diligence etc, and the benefit to Donald was whittled away up to the point whereby he chose not to relinquish his shares and thereby the ownership of the club. That's fair enough and he's entitled to do as he sees fit.
It's as if the Americans were engaged to be married but the 'pre-nup' has held things up ...
... I still expect the takeover to go ahead but not the whirlwind romance we'd expected.
Is the wedding off yet?
Did SD have his pants pulled down before the vows?

Not sure about which would be most stupid, SD for thinking he could get them back for a better deal or FPP if they gave him one! That is not going to happen. Whether anyone would give him a better deal unless we’d actually improved on the pitch would be a very moot point alsoI still think theres a huge middle ground between winning and losing. Winning is them coming on board because we've progressed. Losing is them coming on board because Donald hasn't got the money to pay them back, which is very far fetched because it means he and Sartori lose everything and gain nothing.
But the worst case scenario is that Donald pays them back (more than likely with dividends from SAFC, so very little personal loss if any) and gambles on finding another buyer who will pay closer to what he needs for a profit, or gambles on getting them back to the table with another deal.

I may be way off here but recently a local news outlet posted a picture with a footbridge over The Wear to the ground, Sheepfolds redeveloped and the stadium looking like the stands/roof were level (ie an expansion).....Anyone interested in buying the club could've probably done a better deal buying directly from Short.
Donald hasn't really increased the value of the club.
Top ladsYou must log in or register to see images
So the posh one prefers to be out canvassing for the tories instead of helping the lads get promoted. Makes me sick to be honest and shows his true colours
So much for the personal reasons excuse as well
Shurrup man, he's a toff. We should hate him. Set our whippets on him and beat him with our flat caps!Top lads![]()
