Leave him out for me, Sweden strike me as a team who is more than the sum of their parts, 11 guys busting their ass to work for each other, stick 1 person into that team who is more concerned about themselves than the team and you lose more than you gain in my opinion
Oliver Kay @OliverKayTimes Looks like Zlatan Ibrahimovic can forget about World Cup. Sweden coach Janne Andersson: "If you rejected the team, I do not think you should come back. I respect what he said -- and I respect those who said yes."
Good, he shouldn't go. As I said previously, they've got to this World Cup without him, getting there ahead of Italy, the team that got them there should be the ones that play, not someone who had retired from internationals after Euro 2016 (a tourney he did absolutely **** all in), but suddenly changed his mind because his nation actually qualified.
Understandable, but Zlatan retired and then changed his mind, showing he didn't give two ****s about the national side, and it's just about him playing at the highest stage. I can't stand Hart and he is our fourth choice keeper at the very most, but at least he probably gives a **** about England.
As the only real Swede on here, as far as I know, what's your thought Febbs? My mates are split bit most seem to say no....
If Hart gave a **** about England, he'd turn down any requests to play for them, on account of being utterly ****e. I view the Zlat as, at the time, not thinking he's good enough, and only wanting to play if he's at his peak. Against all odds, and coincidentally after they'd qualified, he rediscovered his very best form and is again worthy to take his place on the main stage, representing his country. I wouldn't let Hart drive Zlatan to the airport.
The Swedish FA have now announced that Zlatan Ibrahimović will not be part of Sweden's World Cup squad this summer.
I prefer the idea of staying with the same team that took us to the WC. Sure, they're no world stars, but hey, qualified in a group with France & Netherlands, knocked out Italy. We're no world beaters, but we're not completely ****. Ibra is a great player, but simply too much focus on him if he would've joined.
Funny coincidence that..... Considering Sweden made sure that the WC will be without Buffon please log in to view this image
