They need time to gel and get to know each other. That's just being reasonable. He won't be a dead man walking at all if he doesn't fly out of the blocks at all, that just your own personal demand, Only way he'll be getting the sack is if we're approaching Christmas and we're in the bottom three because a 2nd relegation could blow his entire investment and our very existence as a football club. We don't need to sack him at the moment, we don't even need year one promotion. You've spent the last 3 months demanding him out on twitter, trying to trend hash tags, trying to get him sacked, it's got you nowhere. Low and behold we're relegated and he still hasn't been sacked, you could see it a mile back. Well I could, you couldn't. There's clearly a plan in place and all the feet stomping you do isn't going to change that plan.
We will start slowly, this isn't a consortium backed transfer window armed with fresh funds which to build a hefty wage bill to fund a year 1 promotion. We're in a ridiculous amount of debt with very little money to spend and squad riddled with holes. We could need over 15 players man. Reality. They might come free but they don't work for free. The need to create month on month running in the black is the key to paying off debt, that means tight wages. Good players cost wages.
You'll be venting your fury come the start of next season on twitter when we start slow. Hopefully the sensible understanding folk with a grasp on our situation out number you lot. You'll never get the full on revolt you've clearly been wanting as too many people can see there's more to our problems than what goes on in the dug out. It's those problems which is going to handicap any manager for a while to come.
No I wouldn't be happy, I'm not happy with any of this. It's not about what I want though, what I want doesn't matter ****, If what I wanted mattered there would have been massive changes in the way the club was ran years ago. But I can accept situations for what they are. And that is that there's no quick fix and we won't be flying out of the blocks. It's complex and it will take time, years.
I can't control the situation no matter how much I stamp my feet. I think Short should be putting more of his own cash into the club to pay the bank debt instead of selling the better players, but I know it's not going to happen.
There's a business plan in place whether you like it or not, and I bet there's nowhere in that plan that it be scrapped by the demands of the people who are not in the picture of what's actually happening behind the scenes at the club. Short is doing what he feels needs to be done for his personal investment. You need to get it into your head that you can't influence how the man manages his own money. Nobody likes being told how to manage their finances, it's a faux pas in any walk of life. If anything fan pressure is just going to make him more stubborn and maintain the tense atmosphere in the ground and on social network which will always transfer to the players.
You can't control everything fella. But you can make a bad situation worse with that need to control. There's a band of you lot on Twitter keeping a dark shadow over our club imo with constant cringe campaigns to have your own way. I don't think you lot getting your own way will solve our problems in anyway shape or form, as long as there are people like me who feel your solution lacks depth and fails to acknowledge the root problems at the club you'll never have the support to force your own way. We've all got opinions, but there's only one that matters, It's his money and he ain't going to be swayed by the petulance of people who in reality know jack ****.
Not necessarily true. We're talking time periods here. We've got a bank debt being called in 2019. Moyes is on a 5 year contract, very expensive to fire at the moment(Drop in the ocean Ha! easy to say that with other peoples money). Our long term security relies on paying that bank debt, not if playing well on the pitch. So long as we maintain championship status common sense would be to only sack him if that status is at risk, in the meantime sort that debt, then sack him after the debt is sorted, when the greater priority is dealt with and Moyes is much much cheaper to sack.
We're at crossroads where we simply can't afford to take on anymore debt, we need profit to pay creditors, minimizing that profit with paying off running into it's millions is detrimental. Short won't put his own money in and the bank won't extend the overdraft. It's not financially savvy to sack him in our position unless it's absolutely necessary. My opinion is that point will be just before Christmas and will depend if we're in serious trouble in the league. Not in 5 games in. Doesn't make any sense on a financial level to sack him that way.

He's here for a while but I am not confident of him buying the right new players and motivating the existing players.

See the link in my previous post. If that is to be believed, the club are finally beginning to put together a coherent plan; something that's been needed for a long time. The use of a transfer specialist suggests that there will be someone guiding or assisting Moyes in the transfer market. If a proper systematised plan, similar to, for example, Southampton can be implemented then the detrimental effects of Moyes will be limited and eventually he'll be moved on.
Can't stand the bloke but that's life. Let's just wait and see what the summer brings.

I heard it on the radio a couple of days ago. Saggy Chops Redknapp said so, so he must be. He reckons he said we'd be relegated before the season started. Ok he was right, but why is he being interviewed about us.? Did he wake up and decide he'd slag Sunderland off and rang the BBC ? Or did the BBC decide they hadn't had a go at us for a few days and rang their darling knowing he'd put in his two pennorth to put us down.? Why should managers talk about other clubs - can't think of any of ours ever commenting on others fortunes.

, I'm really pleased a football support plan seems to be evolving - we've needed this all my life (even with Drummaville there was never a good football savvy support network) but I'm not sure Moyes can implement this into fruition - but as you say he may be replaced. There maybe a master plan we are not aware of but his undoubted resolute fighting qualities may return in the championship

I don`t have much confidence in either of them tbh but, as Bri said earlier, they`re what we`re stuck with. We can but wait and see. It`s taken years to get into this mess it could take years to get out of it.

The main thing is that they've pulled their heads out of the sand and are finally going about fixing things.
I think that as Sunderland fans we've built up enough patience over the years to go through a rebuilding process without unreasonable expectations.
It`s high time Short paid more attention.
As far as Moyes is concerned I`m struggling to think of a single redeeming feature to inspire any kind of confidence in his ability.
