Mowbray also wanted to stay north tho to spend time with family. Haven’t looked at a map in a while but Southampton is near the bottom of it. Big job tho for him, especially if he fears losing this one. Like I said above though - this is looking more and more like an initiative from Mowbray and his agent to secure a longer term deal here I hope he gets it
He did speak about loving being 30 mins down the road at home to see his kids. Can't see him going all the way down to Southampton myself but stranger things have happened in football
well if we replaced him, there’s no way he’s turning down the Southampton job. He wants to be in the premier league again, he’s said as much. And that will be his quickest route considering the squad and parachute payments
that's wasn't last night that's was before Christmas at Birmingham away club needs to put something out 1 way or another
Well no manager lasts long here, even through multiple owners So not quite Watford, but any manager looking from the outside will look at the job TM has done and see it for what it is. Unless TM wants to leave or had previously agreed it, getting shoved after this season is perverse, as if to show the world how clever we are. But that's not what the world will think at all. They'll think," Usual ten months or a year, even when you've had to handle all that".
I think this has always been the plan whether it was Alex Neil still here or TM. I think with our owners being continental European they obviously have alot if contacts there. Obviously last night's result had no bearing on any of this and they might possibly feel that moving forward they don't feel TM can attract the next level of quality European players. They might be thinking they could easily wait till TM has a poor run of results to sack him to avoid criticism but that would mean losing out on their number 1 choice?
By that logic we're signing Ousmane Dembele; https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/03/16/00/68758197-11865743-image-a-69_1678926725325.jpg
The echo and there reports are a joke nowadays. Utter clock bait ****e. Christ even fishpaste has more information than them
I was going to leave this sort of thread alone as I may be on the brink of breaking a confidence...but it is an answer to the question: where is the move to bring in a new coach coming from? My information, from a very good source close to the club's upper echelons, suggests it is not Speakman. I am told the driver to identify a successor to Mowbray is coming from the very top... from the owner. I do not know the whys, the wherefores...but I was told bluntly. "KLD is looking at a new coach ...he just does not like Mowbray " I was told this more than a month ago. I find it a bit unpalatable, given the job Mowbray has done with the resources at his disposal. But the old adage applies: It's his train set... This is from The Hunter on RTG. For anyone who doesn't know him he is a mlf and an ex reporter who was on sky a few years ago
Yes. For all the genuinely encouraging work by Speakman and Co, the manager is vital, and chopping and changing won't work Imo.
Hope it's not a case of KLD being the green eyed monster due to Mowbray being well liked by the fanbase.
Well it sounds like TM was aware he'd be here until end of season last year rather than him being screwed over. So nothing more than sticking to original plans.
