He's way too young to want that imo. I don't reckon there's anything in these rumours, probably just the club putting contingency plans in place (or completely made up)
Dosnt make sense to me we’ve played some great football the young lads love him so why rock the boat when he’s achieved so much this season
Definitely a strange one. Unless as people have said, he took the job on knowing he would be here for 1 season, then fair enough. However, IF he wants to stay and go again next season then I think he's earned that right IMO. Time will tell but this could be as much of a disruption to the team than losing a couple of players we ideally don't want to. Edit* And I'm happy to admit I didn't want him in the first place but boy has he proven me wrong!
We're not really privy to what's going on behind the scenes. If Mowbray is ready to step back at 59 he's earned the right and nobody would blame him. Offer him some kind of position - not necessarily DoF or anything - where he can continue to help these young lads he's brought through and a new coach. Put him next to Speakman if necessary and they can keep each other honest. Speakman has to be very careful here - a new coach failing, especially when you've replaced someone who exceeded expectations, will be a big stick to beat him with. I'd be more than happy to see Mowbray kept on but if we're in a situation where it's already been determined that he's gone first bad run of form, let's do it now and let him leave on a deserved high.
Hopefully a load of rubbish. The fans like Mowbray, and the players certainly seem to as well. Why change things.
Heres Gerhard Struber at the match last night, one of the names that is linked with us... I find this totally unacceptable behaviour from our club and a massive kick in the balls for Mogga aswell. Thats no way at all to treat a manager that was 2 games away from taking us to the Prem. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerhard_Struber
Unless he's aware of it, of course. Seems unlikely that he isn't if he's been seen sitting next to your boss.
I know in football that if you don't plan for the future you end up going backwards and if Mowbray has kept us up by the skin of our teeth, him leaving would make sense but he has given us probably the best season we've had in about a decade with a group of kids and most of the team playing their first ever season in the Championship as well as coping with a horrendous injury list which included our only striker. I wonder if he was told that offers had come in for players and they were going to be accepted and he's argued the case to keep them and told Speakman that he would be wrong to sell. Neil suggested that something wasn't what he was told behind the scenes and now Mowbray mentioned something about politicians at the club. If a new coach comes in and the players don't take to him like they did to Mowbray and the club struggle as a result both this new coach as well as Speakman will be under serious pressure
