We'd spent about 1 or 2 million before we sold Modric, Roo.
We made about £30m in profit on transfer last season though, mainly by barely signing anyone.

but have you subtracted Verts, gylfi and Ade from what we'd sold?

If I'm correct here, i've just done the maths differently.

Maybe I've missed something but Wiki say he's our 4th signing of the summer,oh well I'll keep looking. Not too sure about this signing but let's give him a chance.

Out: Kranjcar, Corluka, Pienaar, Bassong, Button, Modric.
In: Sigurdsson, Vertonghen, Adebayor, Dembele.
Up about £15m, I think.

Ok PNP,after watching that I am sure about this signing,thanks. I read one of your posts and get the impression that you're going cool on Defoe. I remember on the old 606 you were very pro,what's changed you?
 
Yes, everything once again looks like good business, so Levy deserves credit.

As much as I'd like Moutinho, getting another striker is more likely to affect our fortunes. Let's just say VDV goes. I think a team with, say, Sandro, Dembele, Gylfi, Bale Ade and Lennon SHOULD be able to score well. But take Ade out and I doubt it will. Conversely, add Moutinho and drop...who? In any case, it's not that much stronger of a team.

The system change.
Defoe's a good player and he worked very, very effectively with Crouch, but he can't play the lone role and he's getting pissed off with being on the bench.
29 years old, 30 in October and his value's about to disappear entirely.

Adebayor's probably off to the ACON in January, so we need someone that can pick up the slack and do the business then, if not sooner.
I'd have preferred two more strikers, if Defoe were to leave, to be honest.
Someone to push for the place in the first XI and a youngster with something a bit different to offer.
I like Kane, but I think his best position is in the hole.
 
Ok PNP. Yes I'd prefer two strikers and Defoe doesn't come into it for me and hasn't for a while. Still Moussa can score so one more striker for me.
