Can't see mountinho signing as Porto don't budge on a price and know how desperate avb is to sign the guy.

One thing that did just spring to mind, is that if AVB says yes to selling VDV, it could be to buy Mountinho as that would free up money to match portos asking price, I guess thats a possibility.

Personally no, as to lose Modric & VDV and end up with Dembele & Mountinho would be a huge risk, as it's a backwards step in terms of ability but if the manager believes he has to sign certain players then thats his call, thats why he's manager.

I just wonder if Rafa has a future with us, as he is not getting any younger and I expect if a club makes a big bid for him then Levy will sell.

It's on the Spurs Official Twitter page, but that's it, at the moment.
Everyone else should catch on soon.

You've got yourself a player folks, really sad to see him go. He'll be a great signing for you.

Thanks for coming over and saying that, Craving.
Hope you sign a decent replacement and it doesn't do too much damage to your season.
    Poor timing, really.
I'm sure Jol's got an idea who he wants to bring in. <ok>

I wish I could be as gracious. Testament to him as a player that most Fulham fans feel flat at the very least- this is the worst I've felt about a player leaving, really thoughT he would be with us until January.

I hope it goes well for him and he finds a position in the team which he is kept in. He really is a great player- probably one of the best I've seen live, certainly in a Fulham top, possibly in the league. Needs to improve his goalscoring but his workrate, tackling, passing and dribbling are top level. I think he will be a more effective player for you than Modric, which is a big statement.

Will try to keep restrained, if you find me posting abuse on your board late on Saturday nights then I apologise in advance.

Mate, I was the same with Berbs...

Can't believe Fulham are being so nice in all honesty, 15m is a fair price especially with so litle time to replace.

Id have loved him in a Chelsea shirt. Heck we can't sign everyone <laugh>

i'm sure HBIC or PNP will back me up here with better figures here, but I think it's in the region of £20mill we'd made before selling modric. that figure obviously now sits at £53m now that we've sold him.

we had spent 23m before signing Dembele. if dembele is £15m as expected, that still leaves us with a profit of £15m

lloris is supposed to be costing around £12m, and willian around £18m. so even after we've got those two (if we manage to, that is) we've still only spend a net of £15mill.

if we sell VDV and Dawson, that's going to bring in at least £20odd mill, so we're back into a net profit of £5m

if we can get rid of any other dead wood, that might also bring us in a bit extra.

forgetting dead wood, then it's a case of whether we'll go and spend the £25m on moutinho. that would still only be £20mill net spent, even with out any further dead wood sold.

some optimists might even suggest that it's possible we might spend £25 mill on a marquee striker??

therefore £45mill net spend, before the sale of any extra dead wood!

not huge spending in the grand scheme of things, really....

But thats assuming all the money from players sold, will be invested into buying players, that doesn't go with our previous spending so it would great if thats the case but not convinced.

Didn't stop you from trying though, did it?

We'd spent about 1 or 2 million before we sold Modric, Roo.
We made about £30m in profit on transfer last season though, mainly by barely signing anyone.
