Nereo Rocco's approach to building a team was pretty simple...
  • a goalkeeper who saves everything
  • an assassin in defence
  • a genius in midfield
  • a goalscoring forward
  • seven donkeys who run all the time
Sounds an awful lot like the average Moronho team, doesn't it?

That looks like Shankly's Liverpool of the 60's but with a lot more assassins!

After tonight's woeful appearance at Wembley Stadium, I wonder if Herr Klopp and John W. are frantically searching for the receipt for Oxlade Chamberpot and trying to research what Arsenal's returns policy is?

What the **** were they thinking paying £35m for him in the last year of his contract? Also, he'll be on a fortune in wages. Liverpool always massively overpay their players. He'll probably be on something like the £150k p/w they pay Sturridge and the £140k p/w they pay Milner to sit on the bench. That;'s the fat end of £0.5m p/w on three players that are no good to them whatsoever. That's £22m a year. If you burned that in banknotes, that amount of paper would keep you warm for a while, which seems like a better return than the Mousers are currently getting from them.

Finally, I can say it about someone - he's making Sissoko look like a canny investment.

Mane picked up a hamstring injury on international duty and is facing a possible six weeks out, meaning he could miss the following matches
14/10 vs Man Utd
17/10 vs Maribor
22/10 vs Spurs
28/10 vs Huddersfield
1/11 vs Maribor
4/11 vs West Scam
18/11 vs Southampton
21/11 vs Sevilla
25/11 vs Chelsea

It's weird how all those teams who have had no European football in recent years are picking up injuries now that they're back in Europe.

That's where bringing in quality back up players, like Oxlade Chamberlain, pays dividends.

In the same vein, Chelsea will gain the benefit from swapping Matic for Drinkwater in Kante's absence.
