Good to see the BBC providing unbiased comments...
'Liverpool held after missing lots of chances'

2 on target in the whole game doesn't sound a lot to me! And Newcastle finished far stronger. But apart from that.....

Their transfer window was a shambles. They ended up with Robertson at left back, who didn't make the bench today behind Moreno and Milner; Oxlade-Chamberlain who is just mediocre and who is allegedly there to play central midfield; Salah, who plays like an excitable puppy - he chases everything but has a bark far worse than his bite and Solanke. That kid could turn out to be the best of a bad bunch.

Klopp's continual support of a pair of goalkeeping comedians and a defence whose kits include big red noses and oversized boots doesn't attract the ridicule it deserves. The ridiculous failure to buy a halfway decent centre half is insane. The bloke is stealing a living. He's into his third season there and there's no improvement in terms of team shape and durability. Take Coutinho out of their team and you've got Everton [wtihout Lukaku and Barkley].

Yeah but he laughs a lot in interviews and says things like "cool" and "boom" so he must be great.
Well in with the kids of a few years back at least :grin:

I've always thought building a team was relatively simple:
  • Identify your greatest weaknesses
  • Buy the best players you can afford to improve those areas of weakness;
  • Get the best goalkeeper you can afford;
  • Make sure you can keep a clean sheet and regularly score more than one goal per game;
  • Continue to do this until you are sacked or offered a better job.
I think that Everton have too many cooks spoiling their broth. There's Walsh and Koeman and Moshiri involved in recruitment. It wouldn't surprise me if Walsh bought Klassen; Moshiri got Rooney to raise the club's profile and Koeman only wanted Sigurdsson all along. Failing to bring in a striker speaks of internal conflict and dropping the ball. They all knew one was needed but they collectively ****ed it up.

Klopp is just mental.

I don't get all this.
You might remember Granada Reports making a song and dance about his appointment and women fawning over him as if he was some sort of Adonis.
He looks like an ordinary middle aged bloke, slightly studious with his daft hair and glasses and a bit on the edge due to the pressure of managing a fallen giant, who aren't really bridging the gap to the top sides here or in Europe.
What have I missed?

Nereo Rocco's approach to building a team was pretty simple...
  • a goalkeeper who saves everything
  • an assassin in defence
  • a genius in midfield
  • a goalscoring forward
  • seven donkeys who run all the time
Sounds an awful lot like the average Moronho team, doesn't it?
