It's not the way it works though. By the training and development costs theory you'd pay the same for 2 players who joined the club at the same time and spent the same time at the club even if one's **** and one's Messi-like. Compensation always takes into account ability and transfer value, as that's what they're trying to assess.

Have just had a look. Interesting...

'PFCC hearings require each club to provide evidence to support their valuation of the player in question. In making its judgment the committee will take into account the costs of both clubs in operating a Football Academy or Centre of Excellence, as well as the age and playing record of the player, the length of time he was registered with his original club, the terms offered by both clubs, the status of the two clubs, the substantiated interest shown by other clubs in acquiring the registration of the player and any amounts paid by the original club to acquire the player in the first place.'

Wouldn't it be helpful to Burnley if they had a very recent bid for one of their out-of-contract players? <whistle>

Think it's a factor but not determinative.

Think they try and determine the real value of the player over time - not the market value. Decision based on legal principles of fairness, reasonableness.

So are we bidding £12m in order to screw Liverpool out of a few pennies in the tribunal? So petty, yet hilarious

I really hope Liverpool end up agreeing to pay a £12mill compensation fee only to find Ings has signed for Standard Liege. I think that would confirm that HIAG is infact Levy <laugh>

When the Ings rumours surfaced last week on the other side, I said it will be
    a move to Standard Liege + 2m.

It would not surprise me to learn that Standard Liege is actually a fully-owned subsidiary of ENIC.

News reports coming in that Brenton has been re-affirmed as Poool manager.

Joy in that this article will live for another season guaranteed.
But who is going to give the news to Spurcat that Brenton will not be available
this summer to replace Pochettino ??

Dunno, I guess we'll have to think about that when United have a bid accepted.

Congrats on nearly finishing above us 2 seasons in a row, by the way. Quite an achievement that would've been.

Fabianski way above Ospina and Szszszelfie DFL among keepers with a few starts....:D Szsz should take a picture of himself next to that chart.

Though that couldn’t be more off-topic.

Anyway, thanks for the stat, Red, I’m sending it along to Real and Man U, so they know who to buy. It’s got to be Mignolet, really.

"Who will you replace Lloris with when he leaves for United?"

Nobody. Spurs will play with a rush goalie.
Face it, Spurs could even play with Gomes in goal and this article still kept ticking over.

So having spent £100M+ on ropey foreign imports, Brendan's masterstroke is to now buy up all English players whose contracts are expiring so he pays no transfer fee - or no more than a modest one.

Breathtaking genius. It WILL be their year, next year <doh>

I'm amazed the Pool board have stuck with Brenda if I'm honest. He's made himself look a right cock with previous comments catching up on him and after being made to look like a fantastic manager thanks to Suarez last season, he's now been found out (again), yet is still being persisted with by a big club. If I were in a position at Liverpool that had a say on managers, I'd be all over trying to get Klopp to the club, absolute no brainer in my opinion.

I wonder if Liverpool will actually stick with him, now that they’ve fired his staff. I can’t be bothered to see how solid their backing of him was...
