Notts County fans singing, "Can we play you every week?", as they come back from 2-0 down to take Liverpool into extra time.
Man Utd fans will be loving this.

He's probably in a Taxi on his way to the Clinic

Edit: last 10 minutes possession, mousers 25%, Notts County 75%................Definitely in a Taxi on his way to the Clinic

Edit: Stop the Cab, the Notts County keeper scored an own goal. It's gonna be our year cry the mousers!!!

Edit, you couldn't make this up, Notts County are sponsored by Jonglers Comedy Club, the mousers have been taken to extra time at home by a bunch of Clowns.

4-2, the mousers are celebrating spending 120 minutes knackering themselves knocking out Notts County a few days before a clash with Man U. A bit like celebrating losing your job because a giro will probably arrive. A good old fashioned pyric victory.

Toure's injury looked pretty bad, too. I believe Allen went off with one, as well. Rodgers won't be pleased with that, despite progressing.

The curse of the League Cup again - I'm surprised he played so many first teamers. I don't think an extra game of 120 mins will be a disadvantage at this stage of the season, but without Suarez, tiring out a not fully fit Sturridge may not have been the wisest move.

BR didn't start with Agger, Coutinho, Lucas, Aspas and Enrique. There was a decent mix of first team and youth/backup. But the injuries are disastrous. Pretty much handed you the game on Sunday. <doh>

Liverpool should have mopped the floor with them with any side they put out.

The lack of depth with concern Rodgers hugely and it's starting to show already.

Alarming how many goals the Premier League sides conceded though. Did anyone keep a clean sheet? Clear drop in quality, the gap should be far bigger than what it actually is.

    Don't start this again.

There have always been Cup upsets. When PL teams send out weakened sides, especially on small, poor quality pitches against motivated sides, the potential is always there. If Barcelona sent a team of reserves/kids to Peterborough, say, and faced a fit, strong team of six footers with some half decent ability, they would struggle too.

Liverpool should have wiped the floor with them for sure.

And there was a massive gap in quality, but Liverpool unacceptably dropped their performance levels 2nd half thinking they were home and dry. In any sport, when you play someone better than you, you always up your levels, (especially early in the season.)

Nice little reality check in my opinion for a few players which can only be a good thing. Injuries suck though.

  14. Oh, that day will come. It always does.

Anyway guys, glad you entered into the spirit of this match on my behalf (I was heavily engaged in business today). 'Pool may have won, but they showed just how weak they really are. Is there any Mouser who can truly believe that 'Pool is better than last season's 8th? Surely they cannot be that deluded any more?

  15. Indeed, Little Luke. Didn't 'Pool lose to the mighty Brentford last season?

Instead of criticising Liverpool entirely, can't we also praise Notts County?

They were gifted two chances by two defensive errors, and to their credit, despite being dominated all night, took them. They showed a lot of fight after their second goal too.

We played a few young players - there will be nights like this were mistakes are made and chances aren't taken. Sterling should have scored a couple, Ibe should have had a more direct threat. Wisdom was at fault for the first goal.

The main issues are Toure being out and Stevie, Glen, Agger and Hendo all playing. Cou as well.

Conversely more game time is probably just what Sturridge needs to regain full fitness.
