hahaha brilliant <ok>

Serious question - when was the last trophy the Spuds won? Sitting here thinking and my mind is completely blank. All I can come up with is possibly the league cup about 6/7 years ago?? If that's right, what is next closest?? Are we talking many moons away? Sorry if I'm wrong just can't think of any of the top of my head.

5 years ago. If we ignore our triumphant Peace Cup win then the next was 14 years ago.

Just fell out of the pub presumably!

Just brain dead, I think. Idiots like him can't accept that they only narrowly beat a team that had played an important European tie only 3 days beforehand. Even then they only managed to win by us gifting them 2 of their three goals. All of a sudden it's the dawn of a new great era for them!. <doh>

Next season we'll be much better, so will Arsenal and Chelsea and we'll all spend more money than you...

You've consistently spent more money than us, and do so on a weekly basis (every time you pay your wage bill), and yet that has not prevented you from being a mid-table side.

Trust me, one day, Goofy will get fed up playing the bridesmaid and he will set his sail towards more rewarding shores.

Without Bale, we are still a top 5 side; without Goofy, 'Pool are perennial relegation fodder.

Liverpool are broke and have no prospect of CL football. Cashing in on Suarez in the summer seems a certainty to me. Of course they won't want to sell him, but can they turn down a big offer from a top club?

<applause>

I think you may well be right, Little Luke.

Not anymore, we're slashing our wage bill and aren't willing to let players wages get over-inflated again. Allen, for instance, may well be a flop but he's on 30k, so no big loss. Same reason sigurdsson went to you, because you offered him 30k a week more than we were prepared to.

I know you lot hate Suarez, but comparing him to Hitler? Mental.<yikes>

Just underlining the poor nature of the argument.

A law that I have not broken.

An example of Godwin's law would be saying that because the Nazis banned something (i.e. smoking, hunting) then it is wrong for other governments to do so.

Did I do that? No I didn't. I pointed out a fatal flaw in Skylarker's argument that the skin tone or religion of someone's grandparents have no bearing on their actions.

Get over it - It was a cultural mistake (a big **** up from Suarez). He's learnt his lesson, and anyone that thinks he is a racist is clutching at straws, months after the incident was put to bed.

BTW - I'm not going to debate this, be done to death already <ok>

"a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler "

seems that is exactly what you did.

haha and talking about Suarez on a football forum constitutes a discussion on such a mainstay?

Arguably. <whistle>
The direct connection is in the question, though. Can you be racist/bigoted towards an aspect of your own ancestry? If the rumours are true, then Hitler clearly was.
It's a very stupid position to hold, admittedly, but it's a pretty dumb view irrespective of such connections.

Sounds very familiar. They'll be talking about a power shift next <whistle>

As long as the league remains constantly poor it's impossible to rule any one of the top 9 out completely. A decline in the quality of the league means teams don't have to be as good. There's the top 9 + Newcastle and then in reality the rest are all Championship give or take.

I'd say there's a top 2 and then a group of 5 or 6 teams all capable of grabbing 3rd or 4th from now on. But I agree the general quality of the league has gone down hill.

The power in North London has already shifted. Whereas you had the major share of it for many years, that has slowly changed in the last few years. And, continues to do so.
I might (I said might) give that claim some credence if you ever manage to finish above us in the league.

Let's continue this in a couple of months time :)
