Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has agreed to take charge of Chelsea from the start of next season on a four-year deal on £5.3m a year until 2020, according to Calciomercato.com.

Just shows how you can turn your career around. Allegri was largely viewed as unemployable when he was sacked by MIlan and his reputation ruined as he was the one who decided to release Pirlo at his peak for purely footballing reasons before he went on to cement his place as one of the best midfielders in the world. Then when Conte quit to take the Italy job and Allegri was appointed the Juve ultras protested so much it was widely expected he wouldn't last a week in the job.

Its a bit strange cos if ever there were managers whose whole DNA were made for certain clubs, its Jose at Man Utd and Pep at Arsenal. Really dont understand why he's gone to Man City, what does that prove? He's been at Barca, Bayern and now there, all of which have essentially unlimited funds and would expect to win their leagues before a ball is kicked. He wouldve been much better 'doing a Klopp' and going somewhere that is a traditionally excellent club but still not expected to win, so therefore a challenge for him. Plus he could live in London.

Jose is nothing like a Man U manager.
Defensive, boring and usually at clubs with a history of being snide cheating ****s.

That's what I was thinking. He's just a far better version of Steve Bruce.

Defensive? Hmmm... I wonder which manager won the league with the highest number of goals scored in any top division in the HISTORY of European football?

Boring? I cant see that one, there is literally never a dull moment when he's around. Yes a lot of it is him courting controversy as pantomime villain but it certainly isnt boring, he's the most box office manager there is on the planet.

'Snide cheating ****s'? well he fits the bill perfectly then.

The style of play of Mou is not about expansive football though. Players have very rigid roles. Ashley Cole was an overlapping full back at Arsenal but he didn't do that much at Chelsea (under Mou).

Interesting how history rewrites itself. When people talk about Man Utd, particularly under Ferguson, they always remember the rampaging Giggs, Kanchelskis and the like and forget 60,000 fans, frustrated at defensive tactics and Rooney playing left midfield, chanting "4-4-2".

Was Ronaldo playing a very rigid role? Was Hazard?
