To be fair the rag has applied their usual sensationalist brush to what he said. First sentence for example reads how Jose 'will be a failure if he doesn't win the champions league', which is not what was actually said. The idea is patently ridiculous anyway seeing as he already has more trophies and champions leagues than 99.9% of managers out there so how he could be branded a 'failure' even if he doesn't win another tin cup for the rest of his life is quite beyond me. Crap paper.

CFC owe a lot to Gullit, but all these views about winning the CL or out for Jose are crap! We'd all like to win it but there are some mighty opponents out there in Europe! What would be nice and a realistic expectation is for Jose to win the PL! Then to prioritise the CL over domestic cups! Play the 2nd XI in these and take the CL game by game very seriously! I would expect a minimum of semi-finalists !

Spot on

It's the Sun , they'll probably change their mind tomorrow lol. I'm still not celebrating until the Fat lady arrives

Is that the same Sun that will run both sides of a story on seperate days and then when one inevitably turns out to be true - they then claim they broke an exclusive ages ago?!?!

Their exclusives are the betting man's equivalent of betting on both horses in a two horse race.

Absolute gutter press.

Always said Gullit was the worst sacking of any Chelsea manager but he is a bit off the mark here.

We all loved RDM but I think it was unanimously agreed he wasn't the man to take us forward long term. Like it or not, our premature CL exit was down to him. CL football is not just about being the strongest team, it's about being the smartest. Our gung-ho approach was never going to work against teams like Juve and Shaktar.

With the Jose in we will be definite QF/SF every season providing astute signings are made and a top striker.

You should read who it's written by as opposed to the paper it's written in.

The Sun is toilet paper but Rob Beasley - the journalist who wrote it - has very close connections to Chelsea (he's a fan) and speaks to Mourinho occasionally. He's one of few English journo's Jose trusts. Therefore I'm inclined to believe him. I did say a while back that I did not believe Jose was in England primarily to watch the playoff final and it was more a mirage for the contract signing. You don't travel thousands of miles and bring your right hand man to watch a Championship playoff final (that's not not to discredit the Championship btw).

They probably wanted everything signed so that come Sunday/Monday it can be announced before players go on their holidays/Confederations cup etc. The players obviously know and have done for at least a month but it's a lot easier when everything is made official.

I thought at the time he was casting an eye over Chalobah, who did himself no harm at all incidentally!
