It’s not only that.
Poch is not stupid, nor is Mourhino so dreadful a manager that everything wrong at United was his fault. The problems clearly run much deeper.
If Poch thought he’d be able to make a difference and avoid the same fate as every single one of the three managers that came after Fergie, I would be prepared to accept that he could be tempted. But he - and every single top flight manager will be looking at the United job as a poison chalice.
United will be forced to go with someone untested.
