He had mixed success with us, mate.

Not all the good signings were down to him either. Dele was scouted by David Pleat while Toby and Son had been on our radar for years before Mitchell joined. Wanyama and Trippier were a success. Janssen, Wimmer, N’jie and Nkoudou weren’t. Sissoko is finally coming good but I’d label him as so-so at the moment, if he maintains form this season you could make a case for him being a success.

Mitchell supposedly fell out with the board. Rumours that the board weren’t entirely happy with his work but that was just paper talk, hard to tell if accurate.

I'm pretty ITK on this one mate. I know that we were looking at Alli before Mitchell left then he went to you guys and you signed him the following summer so I guess Mitchell had some input on that one.

Could be that everyone knew who Alli was though when he was at MK Dons

Pool were supposedly signing him and then decided against.

Just had a look and he was there when Spurs signed - Alderweireld, Trippier, Alli, Son, Wanyama, Sissoko of your current squad which is pretty good going really.

Two of those were Soton players (well "under the radar" , eh) .

"A few duds as well but that is going to happen anywhere."

Then he isn't a scouting "special one" .

Comolli got Bale, Modric, Berbatov.
Baldini got Eriksen and Lamela (both still here 5 yrs on) .

But both also brought in sh*te, and more importantly both upset the
managers of the time (BMJ and AVB respectively) .

Pochettino at Spurs seems to have the control over players he wants,
and Levy sleeps soundly knowing he is not a "wheeler dealer" like Arry was,
or Jose allegedly has been with Rainola.

Therefore I contend Mitchell will be of little significance in Pochettinos'
decision process should he choose to go to Man Utd. < YMMV >

Pretty sure Alli was one of our targets before they moved to you...

There were quite a few looking at Alli at the time. IIRC it was ultimately between us and Newcastle for his signature. Pool were also interested and Alli grew up a Pool fan as well.

Mitchell may have had some input behind it but it was definitely Pleat that convinced the club, Pleat’s been more than happy telling everyone about it, don’t blame him though I suppose, best £5m we’ve ever spent.

Poch clearly no longer needs, or is reliant upon Mitchell.

At Spurs, Poch undoubtedly enjoys immense freedom in bringing players in, or through the academy. It must be a great source of pride for him that he’s advanced the careers of so many players at Spurs, and for which he has rightly received many plaudits throughout the industry.

It seems to me that to go to United to work with Mitchell, at this point in his career would be a massive step backwards.

If that’s the reason United got Mitchell, I think they were ill advised.

Was being serious, don't rate him and or his antics.

He's top class, as he showed last night. He handled last night’s incident very maturely. There’s a lot of players would have been rolling around like they’d been shot and blown the whole thing into a major incident.

The Goons should send him a message of thanks for the way he handled it.

I agree he handled it well last night but he's still a bit of a **** you have to admit.

That’s nice mate. It’s a shame your opinion counts for absolutely nothing though innit.
