The Club has appointed Barry Richardson as its new Goalkeeping Coach following the departure of Pat Mountain for family reasons earlier this week.
Richardson joins the Tigers having spent the last four years in a similar position with Wycombe Wanderers, and he has also coached with Doncaster Rovers, Nottingham Forest and Peterborough United following a playing career that saw him make more than 400 senior appearances.
The 48-year-old, who was still registered as a player at Wycombe, is now looking forward to working alongside Head Coach Nigel Adkins and his staff, as well as a talented group of goalkeepers.
“I’m very excited to be here, to be working with a group of really good players and more especially in my role, two really good international goalkeepers and some young goalkeepers that really want to develop,” said Richardson.
“I love all aspects of working with different goalkeepers, from helping those just starting out with their careers with their development to working with some really top goalkeepers, and the two we have here are right up there. There’s a good blend of experience, youth and hunger with the group of goalkeepers we have here and I’m really looking forward to working with them.”
Richardson’s work on the training ground has already started ahead of this weekend’s Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round home tie with Nottingham Forest.
Yes he got booked for the following week's All-Star Wrestling Championships.
