50 Grand - has he had a better game for us? I don't remember it if he has - dominant

Pandur - The penalty save kept our lead intact

Giles - great crossing all night and what a ball for McBurnie's goal

Gyabi had his best game, Hughes and Belloumi (especially first half) could have been top 3 too.

Belloumi - I love the way he just floats past defenders and, although relatively small, doesn't shirk from strong aerial challenges.
Ajayi - dominant in defence and he moves the ball forward positively - some towering headers again and I think his partnership with Hughes gives us our best central defensive option.
Giles - great crosses in the first half weren't benefited from but his combination with Millar and McBurnie is top quality

There were many very good performances again across the board - the injured players coming back for cameos all contributed brilliantly, Hughes was a big plus and Ajayi looked really promising. Pandur had a very quiet night but his penalty save was crucial. Another very enjoyable watch after the misery of last Friday.

Joseph
Belloumi
Slater

I thought everyone played really well without exception, but. Gave it to Joseph as he’s an unsung hero and comes in for unnecessary stick. We look much better with him leading the line than Destan, even if Destan is the more clinical goal scorer. Obviously McB is our number one, but would be harsh and possibly counter-productive if Joseph is dropped. He tires out defences.

Belloumi
Slater
Giles

Belloumi as we already knew is just a cut above in skill and comfort on the ball. He has a way of quickly turning any pass received into an opportunity to run at people, his touch but also his understanding of the pace on the ball and how he can use it to his advantage, and his speed of thought, all make him very hard to mark as he showed a few times. He clearly has a future in the Premier League. Keeping him, McBurnie and Millar fit would be enormous for us because they're streets ahead of their backups.

Pandur almost made it in as my number three just for the penalty save. That's three penalty saves inside a year for him now, and prior to that we didn't have a keeper save one for ages.

Possibly the best we've played all season, definitely the most dominant we've been. Wrexham were pretty gash TBH but everyone stepped up to the mark after the last two home nightmares (fortunately missed the Boro debacle as was away for the weekend).

Crookes - absolute beast all game, ran the midfield in my opinion
Belloumi - as previously mentioned disappeared a bit in the second half but tore their left back a new one in the first half
Pandur - for the pen save mainly, but apart from a couple of errors with distribution early on seemed better on the ball than he has been recently

A lot of solid performances in this game.

Time to keep that going.

Consistency is all I ask. Give us this day our daily mask.

(For much kudos, from which play is this a quote?)
