MOTD2 extra: Talking about the Manc derby, Kilbane just said that,"even against Hull they were outplayed for long periods."

Here is MOTD's Team Of The Day - three City players!

4. John Terry (Chelsea) Kept a clean sheet, as well as making seven clearances, more than any other Chelsea player.
5. Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City) scored for Hull City and won all four tackles that he attempted.
6. Robbie Brady (Hull City) scored one and assisted another for Hull City, created four chances, and made 15 accurate forward passes; more than any other Hull player.
7. Gareth Barry (Everton) won four aerial duels, and won two interceptions, the most for Everton, also had the most touches of any PL player (101).
8. Oscar (Chelsea) made seven tackles, the most for Chelsea, as well as scoring a goal and attempting 14 crosses.
9. Loic Remy (Newcastle United) scored a brace, and attempted six shots, by far the most for Newcastle.
10. Sone Aluko (Hull City) scored one and also made an assist for Hull City, and attempted more shots than any of his teammates (4).
11. Romelu Lukaku (Everton) netted a debut goal for Everton and attempted more shots than any other Everton player (3).

Ugh. I absolutely deplore at this modern fad of reducing football to statistics. As if a striker deserves praise for merely "attempting shots" - what about someone like Cisse who is shooting aimlessly from all parts at the moment, rather than keeping/passing the ball to teammates in better positions?

One of the great beauties of football is that it can't be reduced to statistics. Quality of performance is intangible.

I don't think they picked the team based on those stats, I think they just put them in for filler.

Noticed that there were 6 ex City players in the games last night.
Myhill
Guzan
Stockdale
Turner
Noble
Altidore.
Anymore anyone?
