It's not even the most stonewall penalty on the video, for ****s sake.

No it isn't. He drops like a ****ing stone as soon as the arm hits the shoulder.

I said the Yeovil one was a **** view.

He's tackled from behind and he gets nowhere near the ball.

You're looking for reasons again <laugh><laugh>

Stuart Elliott scored a better goal then Rooneys and Beckhams put together. It was in his own half, back to goal, controlled the ball on his head, then lobbed the keeper. He also did a somersault which Rooney didn't.

Joey Guðjónsson scored one against someone, can anyone remind me? <laugh>

Derby 5-0 Forest probably would have been above our match to be fair..

It was an excellent game of football.

Loving Forest's demise. Half of me wants Daivies to get the sack because he's an odious toerag but I'm loving this too much.

Nah this mate <ok>

Commentary "Well inside his own half." It's bang on the halfway line! Great goal obviously but I did think that was a weird thing to say. I know I was at that game but can't remember it very well. I thought Gudjohnsen's goal was a result of Myhill being high up the pitch while we were chasing a goal. Clearly I made that up.

What was wrong with our game ? A vital match for both clubs, fiercely contested, appalling conditions at times to play football in with driving rain/hail and a swirling wind, and we won ?

What ever the reasons, the quality of football on display by both sides was the best advert the Championship has had this season, it was like watching a Sunday league game at times the way players just tried random stupid things for no reason. I spent half the game laughing at how oblivious to events around the players on both sides were. McGregor shouting at the ball boy to hurry up and give him the ball when he'd already returned it was a particularly good example of it, as were the numerous "air kicks" by players yards away from the ball, didn't Davies even injure himself doing one of them in the first half? On a more unfortunate but equally comical moment, Jelavic's shot coming off the defender's knee and smashing him in the face so hard it flattened him was amusing as well. I doubt I'd have been as amused if we'd been on the losing end of the scoreline.

I don't see how we can be accused of defending diving either (other posts obviously), we've said it wasn't a pen because he fell over. I guess MOTD didn't show Elmo going down with his facial injury with our fans telling the soft tart to get up rather than appealing for the foul, or Koren falling over onto the ball later in the game getting the same from our fans when he tried claiming the free kick.

brucie said the game is not about quality but the result,,,,,that will do for me

That it was a dive. I've seen many of you (including the ones having a go at me for pointing it out) condemn diving so I find it a bit odd that you're defending him.

You'll find soft penalties in there, but you won't find dives. There's a clear difference and you know there is.

EDIT; Look out for Vardy's barnet for the Wigan game.

Jesus ****ing Christ how many penalties have you had?

In fairness most are genuine, but there are a few dives. Drinkwaters was absolutely ludicrous.

I've just watched the West Ham v Man Utd game and all the news and reports I saw last night said Rooney scored a '45 yard volley'. How was it a volley? It bounced TWICE before he hit it. Ive seen this a few times this season, when did the word volley become so misused?

it wasn't a volley.. if anything it was a half volley...

How embarrassing was that?

Because he failed to get a freekick, he then dramtically 'worsened' the extent of his 'injury' so that play had to stop and he could get up and get back in position.

I thought a volley was ball flying through the air, you kick it before it hits the floor.

Half volley was ball flying through the air, and at the point it hits the floor you kick it.

Anything else is not a volley.
