Well we all know we are victims of the "They're not good enough" or "Their bubble will burst" comments all year long. But perhaps the funniest one I've heard so far was from a mate during the Man City game who called Ben Arfa one dimensional!? What an uninformed, terrible comment. So I'm curious, whats the most laughable critical thing you have heard about the team or an individual player from the team this year?

Jose Enrique: The club is selling it's best players, they will no longer fight to be in the top 6 with this policy.

A Sunderland fan: Frazier Campbell is better than Demba Ba.

The best thing I've heard was from Vincent Kompany after last weeks match. ''Don't let the big 4 fool you, NUFC are comfortably amongst the best in the league, there's no leaving St. James' without bruises.''

The amount of people that had us pegged for relegation, not just supporters of other clubs, but also football pundits, and journalists, it was assumed we would sink without trace when we sold some of our more prominent players.

You can't be meaning the voice of Mr. Knowitall Lawro can you?

Or Paul (white powder nose) Merson his most recent classic quote was "I think Newcastle will suffer second season syndrome next season". Don't think he realised that this IS our second season back, probably due to a drug and alcohol induced haze!!!! <laugh>

seriously ?

got a link ? that's brilliant

i know this is not from the right season, but my personal favourite was:

'Players who are used to playing people like Henry and Ronaldo week in and week out are going struggle against the likes of Cardiff and Brighton'

quote in the journal, an article about our impending Championship season that sought the opinions of representatives of the various clubs in that division at the time.

This season, has to be all the ongoing football 'wisdom' from pundits that we are punching above our weight, that we hadn't replaced our best players which basically exposed them as not even having done any google research on our new players. (I did, with each signing, and was very happy because it showed we had been very astute, just a quick google of each player as they were signed showed me this). Such research showed how many medals Cabaye had won at Lille; how Ba's goal record in the prem was 1 in 2; how highly Mourinho spoke of Santon ... all this was easily and lazily found by me.

Even my fellow Geordies have fallen into this trap.

Mind you, I didn't expect to be 5th, but I did expect to be pushing for Europe.

Was going to save it in case the impossible happened at the weekend and we were in a CL place. But there is a cracker article from Lawro in the Mirror from about March something along the lines of "Champions league, Newcastle wont even make the top 6"

<laugh> thank you, as ever, for your doom mongering words of good fortune Lawro

haven't forgotten that either: 2 february 2012

Funniest - A lad I know who stuck on his fb before Sunderland's FA Cup replay with Everton '....the biggest game in Newcastle's season tonight'

Stupidest - Just about anything that has left Paul Merson's mouth this season. Probably snorting the white stuff before he went on air.

Best - Anyone who said the following 'Pardew for manager of the year'
