Okay you lot, before moving to the next round of our boring mod-based consultation / review of forum content and standards etc., here’s one for ya.

The site’s rules and those of our board (if not to mention the law’s of Europe and beyond) prohibit disrespect for people’s:


  • gender
  • race / ethnicity
  • disability
  • religion
  • sexual orientation

That means that sexism, being disrespect for gender, is unacceptable both on here and within wider society.

However, our natural inclination as human beings to admire the female and/or male form must, within the context of public decency and for the purposes of this forum, surely be tolerated.

In your no doubt learned opinion, is this a sexist statement?

If so how would you suggest we mod the inclusion of fairly tame girlie / adonis pix, jokes etc. in future?

Discuss and conclude please.

It's about personal preference. Some will find it sexist and some wont.

If people don't want "OT" posts/threads, then they don't have to read them. If any pictures are posted that could be found offensive, then they should have the NSFW tags around.
 
You could end up being our forum's very own Lord Chamberlain Brix, we'll be allowed a ripple of nipple or a south-pointing donger but nothing more!...:grin:

I'm not though Soops. Personally don't give a toss. I know you're joking but just not ready to make the call one way or the other without some solid advice.

This is one of the areas that forced us to the table to work out where the lines are to be drawn in the first place. Not exactly simple is it?
 
Its fine as long as the thread is clearly marked as babe or dude threads. Then us men can look at the babe threads and beth and swords can look at the dude threads.
 
I still don't get why we need any threads on here of the babe/dude pic. variety. I'm not being a prude, but there are so many other places you can go at the click of a button to get your babe/dude picture fix and as I've said on one of the other mod threads, I'd personally rather our forum didn't have them.

Agree with that. Will the quality of the forum be lessened by the banning of provocative pictures? I'd like to think not. Hopefully the quality of on-topic discussion speaks for itself. Best just to avoid possibly offending anyone and decide against posting superfluous controversial stuff?
There are plenty of sites for nude pics, and i'm sure if posters really want to share them they can PM eachother. Alternatively all get together and join a site that caters to the posting of such pictures?

At the very least make sure they don't appear in football related threads, that will definitely turn away potential posters. Even a porn specific section is likely to turn away new visitors if they were to accidently stumble across it.

I think I will exert my preference by glossing over the girly stuff altogether thank you.

And continue to wonder what you all see in blond curvaceous booby enhanced pouting girls....when you chat to an older rounder, mousier girly who can tell you how marvelous the Morgan twins were and how she had a girly crush on Bob Hazell and how Sir Les was the nicest person in the world (like me)

Trying to look at this from someone else's point of view, because, like before, I'm not offended by any of the above - I'm not viewing from a work computer and my kids are not reading with me. Perhaps, like Stamford says, the thread in question must have OT and NSFW in the title.

Not easy Brix, I can see your conundrum - I'll keep thinking.
