Why should we be a moral compass and continue with the current regime if we think we are going to get relegated this season? What makes us superior to others to think we should display this loyalty when the performances have been hit and miss to say the least, what concerns me more is the fact the squad is simply not strong enough to survive so therefore regardless of what Adkins tries to do will fail as his purchases have been poor so its a moot point if he can persuade a man to climb a mountain for him as he simply can not do it as he has no legs to get him up there.
Few other teams have kept their manager when they have gone down and none I know off with a controller like we have so why should we be a supposed team of morals others dont or wont have? We should eb open and honest at all times of course but that does not mean we stupidly follow Adkins or Cortese for that matter blindly down the rabbit hole.

Now I know why I was so disappointed with the loss...it means a barrage of threads from gomoaningon.

There is no other manager that will get the best out of the squad like Adkins does.. and no one sufficent enough to get us out this relegation fight like adkins. Pointless to sack him just because the minority of fans don't like the position we are in.. Such a bunch of fickle fans.

What about the players we have bought, you say no other manager could get the most out of them but they are not up to the standard I believe of the Premiership, or most of the ones bought on evidence, who takes the blame for that?

GMI where were you on here after we beat QPR and Reading? You only moan when we lose? Don't recall you questioning Gaston's purchase at the time!

I know it's pointless replying to you as you'll simply respond with some inanity that has no bearing on my response, but this has so many holes in it it's risible. So, in the order they appear in your statement/question/writing practice:

1. Managerial stability is demonstrating sound judgement nothing else
2. We don't think we're going to get relegated.
3. We don't think we're superior (see point 1).
4. Until Sunderland we were right at the sharp end of the form table which is hardly hit and miss.
5. The squad is strong enough.
6. Whatever Adkins tries actually tends to work.
7. Our purchases have not been poor.
8. One of the worst mountain based (or otherwise) analogies ever.
9. We have not gone down.
10. Following a manager who is clearly superb at what he does, is loved by the fans and totally respected by the players is hardly stupid. Something that is stupid is, well I think we all know that.

1) By doing nothing I believe we will be assured of relegation.
2) Your opinion and not mine, what makes yours more valid?
3) We feel we owe Adkins, do we really when so much is at stake?
4) Deceiving though as most would judge the table and not 6 games.
5) No I dont believe our squad is strong enough, performances and results show this.
6) It has not worked this season, Rodriguez or Mayaka as an example.
7) Above.
8) I thought it was lovely.
9) Thank you Shamen.
10) Again your opinion, not all like Adkins and his methods, many will jump on the bandwagon later and stab him in the back, at least I am open and honest saying he is not up to the job based upon his signings, tactics and team performances.

Here we go again. So come on tell us what would you do then?

Who would you buy and who would you bring in as manager?

Two centre backs, Dawson for starters or someone of that ilk, West Ham have done ok.
Manager? Toughie as I dont know at what point we wouyld employ a manager to save us or try to or to prepare us for a year in the Championship.

I expect Nigel Adkins must have asked the team to lose deliberately to give GMI a chance for a pre-Christmas runout. As others have said, we would not have heard from him if we had won. Anyway, to address his points, I agree with everything hotbovril says. There were huge calls from a minority of fans, GMI included, for Nigel to be sacked prior to the upturn in form that got us out of the bottom three, and led to the defence conceding 5 goals in the last seven games. Most of those people would now admit they were wrong, but not GMI. Nigel had to try something different against Sunderland due to Lallana's injury, and it didn't work. It might have but it didn't. Deal with it, I am sure Nigel will before the Fulham game.

On the January window, there is a thread for this and I won't say much on this subject, but nobody knows who we will buy, we will have to wait and see. Pretending to be better informed than the Southampton management doesn't impress anyone.

Now, GMI, have a great Christmas, preferably back on Saintsweb.
