Pretty good appointment for the Swans. Very good move for Carlos - nothing to lose on that ticket! <ok>

The swans need a couple dogs of war to dig them out of a hole. Not sure this appointment will attract the necessary players or inspire the ones they already have. 6 month contract means any players signing have no continuity or will show allegiance to the club.
In a dog fight for survival, pardew, Sam, pulis and the like are what you need.

Not so sure, who will come to Swansea knowing the manager only has 6 months ?

I like the type of football Carvalhal advocates, but he needs the tools to do it at Prem level and he hasn't got them.

I've often said you can only work with the tools available to you. And I've worked with some right tools.

Seems a bit of a clash of styles. Picked a manager who wants to play football but pundits and swans fans say their players can't string two passes together.
    A big job ahead.

Here I am Sparkey!! Disappointed today as I felt a draw was a fair result, we sat back too much when we went a goal up. An odd tactic as defense is not our strongest area and against a very good side.

Hard to argue with either red card imo. I think we just lacked the energy in the final 20 minutes, probably a result of a long injury list meaning squad rotation is limited to non-existent and god knows how many games in the last month, it really looked like it had taken it's toll today.

I was watching it with my old mand and when they got that late free-kick I was worried as defending free-kicks has been exposed as a weakness for us lately, and I said if they score so be it, you live by the sword you die by the sword and we have won a lot of points this season in injury time. Today it went against us and all but confirms Wolves will be in the Premier League next season.

To a point in your other thread, it is now all about how we respond, tired players, a long unbeaten run gone and two away league games against sides in the top 7, coupled with 2 away cup games against Premier League sides, all the signs of a potential slump are right there, it's now about the teams character.

Disappointed with the result, but head held high still.

No probs supcon - I thought you played very well in a good cometitve game - far better than ours against Preston on Friday. <ok>

When Douglas crashed that free kick against the post early on I was worried that the woodwork was going to save you again.....<laugh>

You should have killed them off after their fella got sent off. The grew back into it and your keeper would have been better off letting that guy score rather than decking him - at least you would have had a man advantage and could have come again. With 10 men apiece, that last minute winner for them was always on the cards.

Still all in all, an interesting result for the chasing pack. With Leeds and Villa both losing yesterday, it is wide open for the second auto spot - that's if you concede that Wolves are home and dry. I actually don't think it's impossible for them to be hauled back as we go into the New Year.

I'm sure it won' t be the last.

It does make you wonder. I suppose the owners of clubs have to be seen to do something.

    Grass isn't always greener though.

Still think if Norwich hadn't beaten Brum last week, Farke would have gone before Warburton. He's still not out of the woods after they drew with Burton yesterday.

If they don't take all 3 points off Millwall tomorrow, expect another departure - they expected to be challenging top 6 at least by now.

Disappinted for sparky sparky. He's done a decent job with limited funds (comparatively).
Would be interesting to see him come down to the championhip to see how he fares.
A change in fortunes for stoke wouldn't be good news for the swans.

Hey remote - you missed the "e" out of the second Sparkey pal. I did mention it years ago but I'll tell you how it got there.

I was a "sparky" working in Cardiff early 80's, and being from Bridgend when the Cardiff boys on site called me I thought they were shouting "spare key"....<laugh>

Anyone who knows the proper Cardiff accent will know what I mean.<ok>

    Know the accent well.
Think you get a mixture from me. I do remember the "spare key" conversation from the old board.
    Auto correct doesn't help either.
