3.45 Redcar Gulf Of Poets 50/1
This 4YO son of Oasis dream is very unexposed on handicap debut with just 3 runs to his name, all in Ireland for Dermot Weld and Prince Khaled Abdullah. His debut over a mile on soft ground was easily his best run, beaten just a neck and a nose by Sacrificial (now rated 106) and Father Christmas (also rated 106). He was then upped in trip to 10F but never looked happy on GD/FM and subsequently disappointed on the polytrack at Dundalk. Gulf Of Poets has changed hands and is now with Mick Easterby, so has a change of scenery which often sparks improvement in a horse. He goes off a mark of 76 here but Nathan Evans takes off 7 - and remember he was upsides 2 horses now rated 106 on debut. I think he could grind this out from near the front and there are very few in the field with form on soft ground (probably really only Le Chat D'Or).

Wyck Hill 4.40 Chepstow
Ran a creditable 8th in the Eidar on reappearance and has dropped six pounds for it. He won the Eidar two years ago so he is a decent horse. Most of his best form is on heavy or soft ground. Worth a dart at 9/1.

Right, stick with me here... Second best at the weights but it's the ground that really appeals for this runner. This horse is by Orientor who was a very fast and tough sprinter. He is a definite sire to follow on softer and heavy ground (30% strike rate) and this horse gets that ground here.
He is race for from a decent run at Southwell (sire not prolific on AW) and he has back class to go well here. If it was over 6 furlongs I'd be very confident but I think he will get away with extra furlong today.

However Tracy Waggotts Shearian has gone close on good to soft on a couple of occasions (also bombed out on another couple) but we know he can handle conditions and down at 7f on ground with some slight give, might be able to pinch this under an aggressive ride (runs at 8 and 9f)
Usually on the pace, I wonder if he might be difficult to pass today as he caught my eye at big prices a couple of times in back end season handicaps last year.

Cork 2.25-Club Wexford win 9/4.Beaten by a neck at Curragh the other day and only up 1lb,I fully expect this lad to win this
Fairy 3.35-Suttons Place should go very close here after impressively winning a listed hurdle by six lts lto.Interesting that Gerathy has kept faith with him over the Fry horse.I'm on at 9/4,also doubled him up with Club Wexford.

Bloody great oak tree got ripped down by the strong winds in the night; right across our drive, bringing down the telephone line again so no internet this morning. Fortunately Amanda and her partner arrived (well as close as they could get) so we had a car the other side of the blockage. Also, my son and Amanda's partner, between them, with chain saw and JCB they managed to unblock the drive. Line won't be fixed until Wednesday so my son has joined it up with speaker wire. Telephone and internet now working fine, and my letters/words aren't getting jumbled up
