Plumpton

2.10 Jackson Hill

Has shown some promise for Warren Greatrex early in his career and debut for new stable wasn't bad when 5th over 2 m 3 after holding 2nd until 2 out at Fontwell recently. This time down in trip to 2 m. Stable had some placed runners last 14 days. Good conditional takes off 3 lb. Interesting each way chance at 20/1.

Trainer Milton Harris on his website about Jackson Hill:

"Placed in his two bumpers, one in Ireland and one in Sandown. Looks sure to be better on soft ground. Another future chaser to go novice hurdling this year."

2.45 Wenceslaus

Encouraging debut over fences last time when staying on 3rd behind a Skelton hotpot without being given a hard time. Has won at Plumpton over hurdles and trainer does really well with his chasers this season. This one is a very attractive option to take the hot fav on.

3.15 Furia D'Oudairies

I fancied this horse last time at Warwick when it took a heavy fall early in the race. Looks to have a future in this game though. Was 3rd in a french bumper beaten by 2 horses that were sold to the Willie Mullins yard. Stable usually does well at Plumpton and had several placed runners last 14 days.

3.45 My Way

Highly regarded by top connections. Hurdling campaign last season didn't lived up to expectations but going over fences was always the main target. Had a wind surgery before this chasing debut. McNeill owned Young nh horses have won several races in England and Ireland recently which underlines the quality their horses have this season.

4.10 Fukuto

Cost connections 52.000 Euros when bought in france. David Bridgewater holds him in some regard. Was given stiff tasks on first runs in britain but could well progress this season. This race is easier. Could complete a double for connections.

4.40 Crossley Tender

Trainer Paul Henderson had 28 chasers in the first three from 38 runs at Plumpton over the last 5 years. Crossley Tender hinted some promise over hurdles giving the impression a step up in trip is needed to fulfil potential (point winner over 3 m). Good each way chance today.

5.10 Western Sunrise

Was heavily gambled last run when a beaten fav at Warwick. Best form was around this time last year and stable in better form now with 2 wins last 14 days.Handicap mark is very handy now. Aidan Coleman always a good booking.

Pontefract

2.30 Lawaa

Ran better than finishing position suggests in its 4 races. Last time 4th from 4 in a class 4 against stronger opposition than today. Drops down to a class 5 and has a good draw (4) for a prominent racer at Pontefract. Could sneak a place at least.

3.30 Awake My Soul

This one has eyecatching form in the autumn month september, october and november over the last years (321113). Last time 5th at york strongly indicates that this one will return back to winning ways soon. Another one with a good draw at this track for a horse that wants to race prominently. Handicap mark gives Awake My Soul every chance.

3.50 King Carney

This one is well regarded by connections and won well from the front on soft a maiden at Nottingham last time. Trainer thinks this track will suit.Looks to the type for more progress next season. 7/1 on offer gives the option for an each way bet.

You have missed off the list the Bridgwater horse I really fancy.

One for Ron/horse owners

what on earth is this horse wearing and why would a racehorse be put in it?

Nass (if about) - I see Darlac is out again at Plumpton off an opening mark of 134. High enough? Also, how does he get a handicap mark after just one run over fences? Or is the hurdles mark considered?

hurdles mark transfers over. I’ve backed him today because I thought his chase debut was full of promise and he would come on for that race.

I think the mark is fair enough, the form of his first chase might work out ok. Price is slightly skinny but I can see him going off bigger.

Frankelio runs in the 3-20 at pointy today ,not proven over the trip but if the handbrake is off surely he must go close, money for the horse as well today.

Just taking a quick look at that race and I see that both ATR & Timeform have selected Darlac as their one to watch/pick but I also see that the Nicholls runner, My Way, is in the top 10 for the Market Movers for the day with the added note that he has had wind surgery something we see more often nowadays...

Dos anyone know the stats for these runners who have had a wind surgery next time out and if they do come back with renewed vigor and do go on to improve...?? I would think some do but I'm not totally convinced, unless the stats prove otherwise...??
