Oh no, I can see where this is going already. Some people would consider some of the comments on here homophobic, would that be stopped. is calling a Welsh person a sheep shagger racist? is calling someone a moron a personal insult? maybe to some. but if you dont like it dont post or read it.

I'm fed up with dancing around political correctness all the time I was hoping not to have to do it on here. (That does not exclude actual real racism / sexism / or hate.)

I just dont think some people can be trusted to know the difference.

Natch is the only one I would trust to go any where near this personally.
 
Agreed banksy (for once:emoticon-0105-wink:) - this site is a breath of fresh air after the monastic Beeb 606 offering - don't spoil it for goodness sake!

I was asked by cyprus to mod the Cardiff board, but declined on the grounds that I thought I couldn't give it enough time to do the role justice. If I had taken it up, I would have done the job just like our H Bomb.

NOTHING gets modded on our board by him unless it's abuse of the forum in the extreme - and then only after sounding out the ather CCFC posters as to their thoughts.

Responsible surveilance of the board is what's required, not a moderation freak like Mary Whitehouse hovering to hit the delete button. From what I've seen, old Snatchy would seem to be good choice (that's if you think you need one at all). <ok>

BTW, I dont really think you smell of piss and are too lazy to walk! some people actually believe I do think that!

I dont know if anybody has noticed but you can't actually smell through a laptop from Bristol To Cardiff. <devil> :steam:

No I never said that was, anyone can do or say what they like, but maybe someone would like to just go on a thread and post about the actual subject without people going on at each other about something different because of some twat wum, even though I do find it funny what you say about that bluetwat 1927, i'd hardly say that was personal or racist which it wasn't

Thank you banksy - I was actually aware of that, but unfortunately for us, you can smell through the laptop the other way.

It's just like the Bristol Channel - in fact, that's why they named it that. All the **** comes downstream at 100 gigaturds a second......<laugh><laugh>
 
<laugh> all the ****s coming from North wales though, and when they named it the Bristol channel, Cardiff was a just a field with a few miners eating rarebit for tea.
 
Thanks for your endorsments by the way lads <ok> Like I've said I'd like to do it more for the administrative benefits rather than moderation. I'm not offering to do it as a badge of honour or a power trip, and I'm mindfull of not wanting people to think 'I thought he was alright Natch, but it turns out he's an asshole' (although some might think I'm an asshole already)

I had already thought of what you said Sparkey about how HBomb treats the Cardiff board with no moderation until people specifically asked, or it was right over the top, and I would treat in in the same vein. I've got basic knowledge of HTML code to make things look dead fancy(!) and I reckon I could bring something to the forum in the ways I've already explained.
 
HTML code doesn't work on here though, well it's off, maybe the server doesn't support it which is weird

Natch (or anyone else who's considering the mod thing). From a Cardiff perspective, the only thing I have to do is a little housekeeping just to keep things sort of tidy. (I draw the line at washing up though). I've only 'acted' on one occasion when a specific user was targeted with personal and family abuse. After a quick PM to Syd, that was resolved fairly quickly. Banter is one thing but there is a line.

The NOT606 Cardiff family are pretty self-sufficient (as I'm sure you guys are) and deal with any wum's (or in some cases, complete morons) pretty efficiently. It would be easy for me to delete threads/posts but it's far more entertaining to see certain people have their arses handed back to them on a plate.
The whole sheepshagger thing is more amusing than offensive (as I'm sure carrot munching, turnip loving yokel is to you - at least I now hope it is :)) Personally, I haven't shagged a sheep for ages - at least not since the court case (I do miss Dolly)
A sense of humour is definately a bonus too. I've been surprised how easy a wum is nullified once you turn what he says onto yourself. It kinda kills any come back and can put an end to what potentially could become a tit-for-tat abuse war. No doubt it'll pick up once the season kicks off but that's just par for the course.
I didn't use the BBC606 much but I've heard a lot about the over-zealous moderation but this is certainly no power trip and I'd get slated if I tried but as Sparkey said above, others don't see it the same (I guess it's down to the individual teams how they run their own boards). Plus you get an extra box of cool toys to play with (I'm still figuring some of them out).
One final thing, as a mod, you'd be in a position to change that god awful banner...it's shocking!<eek>

Anyway, apologies for the long post. It's just my take on the whole mod thing.
