For some examples I was thinking along the lines of something like they have on Liverpool, Newcastle, Swansea, and Watfords boards. Take a look and see what you think.
I looked at the watford,liverpool,newcastle forums the liverpool version looks pretty tidy so would have no problem with this.
My concern of having a mod is if they become to strict and they start modding visiting fans and heated debates on here

Good point N1, visiting fans (and their wind ups) are a vital part of this forum and nobody wants to lose that. I'll lay my cards fully on the table; I've already said I'd like to have a go at it to install some fun places like I have suggested and make the place a bit more vibrant. I was thinking about this about a week ago and I probably should have suggested it then instead of waiting for the latest spat to post my thoughts as it now appears that I would have put a stop to things, which isn't the case. I guess the only way of finding out if people are suited to being a mod is to have a trial period to see if everyone is happy with them?
I have had a look and they look superb would be happy with that, and would second your nomination. Who else said they wanted to do it?

Nah I wouldn't treat it like that. Wouldn't have modded anything so far, might have stepped in and had a word if people disrupt good debate with the same old tripe though, but then I do that anyway and people seem to respond to it. If I was thinking about deleting anything or banning anyone then I'd put it out there and ask what everyone else thought.

It was me, but yeah it's been quite funny with bluetit1927 and sparky on here, make me laugh

If that's the case, you shouldn't become a moderator.
If you want to see how a club forum moderator does the job effectively and unobtrusively, then you need look no further than the Cardiff board.
We have one moderator in H Bomb who does a great job in keeping a low profile and linking all sorts of requests and suggestions to the site mods. There is a lot to be gained from getting the right guy (guys) in the job, but an awful lot to be lost if they abuse the position.
Don't know if any of you bother with the QPR board (I don't), but their mods are right arseholes - they have one rule for their own posters and quite another for visitors. One in particular, Northolt, is a right pillock closing down threads if they don't go their way.
Avoid that at all costs and enjoy the banter - even if you have to take a bit before giving it back.

Well Millens, I think sexism is just as bad as racism on these boards. For your information, the only thing that's ever been in my anus is ****, and that's also what comes out of it, unlike you, where your mouth does the same job.
As far as giving it is concerned, I did have an interesting invititation from wizey on a PM but I declined - I prefer sheep to a hole in a turnip.........
