I have now become the Moderator. I have deleted a number of threads as I want the forum to become Charlton centric. If you have any problems with me or the forum please pm me. I want this forum to be about you the posters. If you have any ideas please feel free to let me know. I will put more up tomorrow.
My idea is to let the forum run itself.

How many active members do we have btw? Oops no need to answer as I have a rough idea.

The title of this thread is nothing to do with my post.

I have been on this board for many years and consider myself loyal<ok>

If members do not like things at any period, then stop posting or f*** off on a permanent basis. If you cannot do this then stop f****** off others and stick to posting about Charlton. Ignore everything else.

I never touch spirits - they tend to oil the tongue a little too much <whistle>

It’s great to have @Dick Plumb1 back at the helm. He’s the Neil Warnock of CAFC forum moderators - very experienced, guarantees a quick surge in form, never lasts long.

We also have a depth of talent in reserve.

Personally I think @Smudger603 has untapped potential.

If Dicky is Warnock, Smudger is Les Reed.

One of life’s No.2’s, but secretly yearning for a go in the hot seat.

Not sure I liked being described as a No 2 <laugh>

I think we should take elf’s advice and let the Forum run itself, see how that works out. What could possibly go wrong.

I can’t keep up with all this. It's a pity that Nick continues to cast aspersions on me. I don't need that. IA also did that on ITTV. But the rest of you will find out that as you get older you do take a more nuanced view of things.

Agreed, @Smudger603 is a number two.

Wow. After a trying few days personally I checked in for my periodic update and it's gone mad on here. I will never depart from the principle that I might disagree with everything someone says but will defend to the end their right to say it. With the caveat, of course, that they should be able to withstand the heat of any reaction. And always respond, never react.

Great to see you back<cheers>

Words of wisdom as always.

A couple of mod requests if I may;
Could two threads be unpinned from the top of page 1?

1) The transfer window (merged) thread.
We now have a new January transfer window thread. I assume this means the old merged thread is now 'dead'.

2) The Paintings thread.
Again, it seems this is now a dead thread.
I was thinking about unpinning it myself before I stepped down from moderating responsibilities.
It has not had a new post added for around 14 months now.
It's a pity Ken Shabby has left the forum, but it looks like he isn't coming back.

Having a couple fewer pinned threads will mean more room on page 1 for recently active threads.
These are only suggestions. It's your call of course @Dick Plumb1

PS:

If you wish to unpin my All First team matches since 1905 and the 2025 season stats threads,
that would be OK with me.
Both threads (particularly the first one) should stay afloat on page 1 as I update them quite often.
Again, your call entirely sir.
