So, after all that, the Lardi Must Return As Mod bandwagon (ably assisted by his Campaign Manager SmudgedPants) turned out to be more of a shopping trolley, minus 3 wheels. I don’t detect any groundswell of a popular uprising for his return, so let’s allow @Dick Plumb1 to get us back onto football, Charlton & sports - related threads. We can all sleep easy at night now, knowing that we no longer have a Mod who moves our posts between threads like chess pieces at 3am. When Lardi has finished with his latest Ted Heath impression he’s more than welcome to continue to post on here. We now have the Ashes & Southampton at home to look forward to this week.

Why do you persist in this delusion that being moderator here is the equivalent of being an all-powerful dictator? It is a caretaking job. Nothing more. The job of the moderator is to look after the forum. Not to be it's ideological Cult leader. Come on, cheer up You got what you wanted. I can never lock one of your threads ever again , or move any of your posts. Nor - with hindsight - do I ever wish to again. Opposing you was a futile exercise. Your views are the future. Nobody can stop the future coming. But I am grateful to you in a way. Because the future you are bringing is now not going to happen on my watch. My conscience is clear.

I will not be walking away. Yes I am sick and tired of trying to keep the peace on here and I do have a life outside of here but I won’t give some posters the satisfaction of giving up. In future ANY personal attacks on posters on here will be deleted. If they continue, the poster will be warned. @lardiman has said he will give me 100 per cent support. I would like to see that in practice. We can’t all like each other but if we are posting on here we need to respect other peoples opinion without resorting to insults.
Of course you still have my 100% support. Anything I can do to help, I'm happy to oblige Now that the moderating issue has been resolved, perhaps it's better (as other members have suggested elsewhere) that we turn our attention back to footballing matters.
