"not similar circumstances to those surrounding your old adversary".

I presume you are referring to Blue Prophet, sparkey, and wonder what "circumstances" you refer to.

Clingo was a unique poster, who was invariably able to put across his opinion/point of view coherently and without having to ever resort to name calling/abuse,etc.,which plagues too many on all Forums.

His being absent from these Forums diminishes them greatly,in my humble opinion.

I had no idea that Prophet had passed away. Had he been ill?

We had some very tough battles down the years, and his dedication and commitment to his beloved Bluebirds never wavered.

Sad for you all that he has gone.

RIP.

Totally agree with that Vetch. <ok>

Not wishing to cause an argument (although Proph certainly enjoyed a good one whether he was right or wrong) the forum is also lessened by his absence.

Your Forum is definitely diminished by his absence,Blue. In many ways, and for some considerable time, HE WAS THE FORUM.
Without wishing to appear disingenuous,he was quite formidable as a debater,so much so it was sometimes easy to get him going.
He used to love getting his teeth into a debate, often producing what seemed like reams of unnecessary statistics to prove his point.
Telling him that his figures were wrong, would send him off to produce yet another set of facts, amidst paroxisms of angst.
It was a lot of fun, most of the time, and I will remember those encounters with great fondness.
I miss him already.
Sad day.

Vetch

He had been ill for a year or so and sadly having disappeared from here suddenly he never returned.

I certainly remember watching your duels both here and on the old BBC version. They were enjoyable to watch from the side and definitely not to get involved in. <yikes>

Why,thank you gentlemen, for your kind words and sentiments, which are reciprocated.

The Swansea Forum has been diminished by clique control, and that saddens me enormously. It's almost become a no-go area, for me anyway.

I don't like gangs who bully, and try to impose their will on others, and it has become the norm. Sad,but there you are.

There was a lot more harmony in the pre Premier League days, and perhaps some can't handle the fame and exposure it has brought.

How is Clingo,these days?

I'm not in any sort of clique and I post there freely. This forum is whatever you make of it.

I remember the duels too,Blue, strangely, and rather surprisingly for most, with a great deal of affection.

It was like fighting with one's brother, sibling rivalry, almost.

swans-m,since you have responded to my post,I should point out that I in no way have implied that you are part of the clique I referred to.

It does however exist, but I shall resist the temptation to name names.

Im not implying you did pal, I just think that internet football forums are whatever you make of them yourself as an individual. Offer an opinion, debate it, and sometimes include a bit of banter. There is no need for people to get roped into half the stuff they do.
