In the last few weeks i've stood by in silence as we have let opportunities pass us by. Darren Bent was the first one... he'll end up somewhere else now. Then I was thinking we could have signed Park Ji Sung, and that French man that has gone to Newcastle. We've not made moves for any of them. Seriously, i've worked it out and they would all have been good for us! I just wish we would have signed / would sign Bent. I reckon he'd have bagged 5 or 6 in pre-season alone. He's leathel. Put him in front of any empty net and he'll score you goals all day long. We'd be mid table.

I think I've done the figures on here before. I'll have a look around and bump the old thread.
 
They probably would have been good for us, but one word can ruin the whole idea of getting these players:

No. I've done the maths. Players are worth the wages, points mean prizes. You get 800,000.00 per league place.

Darren Bent is worth 5 or 6 league places.. thus, he pays for himself.

Anyone else remember them two (or one, it might have been the same bloke)?

Signing players such as Bent would still be a massive gamble. They're still mercenaries demanding a fortune in wages and there's no guarantee of survival. QPR tried that and look what happened, (as did we but with an even weaker squad than QPR last season). We'd be far better off looking at Blackpool's model - OK they were relegated but it was a close-run thing and at least they're still a solvent club. Relegation is no bad thing if the club is in an even stronger position for promotion and survival afterwards, (West Brom style).

Well that is rather difficult when the only replies are "cock" from Bill and Ben.... I think you'll find that if you review my posts before the mutual appreciation society got involved, I got involved in some reasonable discussions.

I did actually post a very reasoned response to your opinion in another thread earlier on but you were the one who chose to be provocative and dismissive without any attempt at debate. Hence why you're now being highly hypocritical and why most posters now can't stand you. Not because we 'don't agree with the clique' but simply because you're a twat.
 
I never liked Ableton from the start, just throwing that one out there.

Mainly because he didn't like me and had a go at every post I made that he could. So I had a valid reason.
