A hard earned point which I’d have taken any time. We did well to get back into it and once he’d made all the subs it helped immensely. We finished very strongly but those last few minutes of injury time saw us battle to keep the ball out as Millwall tried their hardest to get that winner. Last season we’d have capitulated but everyone stood up to be counted. Great celebrations to see us get the goal to remain unbeaten
What was the trip back to London Bridge like?

I’d have loved all 3 but would have taken a point before kick off... and definitely after 85 mins.

Don’t think teams have sussed us... think this type of team will always be a challenge for us compared to the footballing sides.. and we’ve played a few on the bounce.

... and we miss pablo’s creative spark

Test passed for me today

I was dreading this match, but delighted with the point. There were times we passed the ball well and I think if we'd had the full first team to pick from, we'd have won it. Last year we'd have lost and maybe gone on a ****ty run.<ok>

Looking forward to a review by someone who was at the game. A big part of our system is our off-ball work & you never get to see it on the tv. Hoping to hear that we didn't fall down too much in that area with our depleted squad.

Got to say that I was surprised by Pontus at the end. He looked knackered. Wonder if doing his pre-season catch-up whilst playing is a bit too much.

The lad was selected & did his best. You really can't blame him for trying his hardest.

I seem to recall the likes of McContract, Roofe & Wood each needing at least a season before starting to shine. Don't recall any of them scoring on their CF debut - and they were more experienced than Roberts!
He looks weak which is my child point.he has no strength about him he will fail with us im sure not got the nerve.

Totally agree mate. I could be wrong but don’t think he is considered to be a Number 9, more of a wide attacker that drifts in, quick and skilfull. He could come good in a year and still be a great signing. Certainly not his fault that Roofe and Bamford got injured in the same week and he was thrown in, literally, in the Lions Den. Just hope he doesn’t go the way of Ekuban where he can’t buy a goal, get one and he will be fine.

Personally would like to see Edmundson start at least one of the next two, laughed out loud on his debut when seasoned pros literally bounced off him, he’s a beast.

Glad Clarke wasn’t brought on, would be lovely to get a good head start in one of the next two and give him a chance. Certainly looks a talent.

When you consider Forshaw, Brown, Hernandez, Roofe, Bamford, Berardi and even Shackleton will come back into that team from today, the cupboard doesn’t look as bare as some might think :emoticon-0148-yes:
Nice and true comments and big ed would have been perfect today.saiz would have picked him out.dont agree about the squad it still lacks quality.the amount of money coming in the gate deserves better spending.

They were taller than us and it needs sorting.

Must admit I thought Pontus looked knackered as well in fact he looked a bit fed up to me.

I'm not slating Roberts here, he makes good runs and gets himself in the right position to score, and even out-muscled a defender today to create a one- on- one opportunity.

Problem is he seems to want to pass it into the net instead of putting his foot through the ball.

He's only 19, and it was a big ask this afternoon in the worst possible atmosphere he'll face, but Roofe would have had 2.

He will improve, no doubt, but I think he might benefit from a run in a L1/ L2 team to sharpen his finishing a la Mallik Wilks.
