Looks increasingly like at least another 18 months stuck in the wastelands of League One. Minimum. Yes, "Roland pays the bills" but he has not the slightest clue of how to run Charlton properly, nor the humility or self awareness to want to learn. So the vicious cycle continues - Lookman and Konsa join Gomez, Cousins, Pope etc in departing, 90% of the fee goes to cover the losses that are being caused by the incompetence...and the team gets weaker still as "No.8" is forced to shop for bargain basement signings - the previous 7 showed what that gets you. Results continue to flatline and after 20 games "No.8" is replaced by that non entity alumni of AS Vita [Congo] and Melbourne Pirates.

And so it all begins again.

Yep, spot on post. All very depressing

Last night we were just spineless, I know we all said it at the start of the season- the midfield is horrible, plain horrible

Got to say, out of all the Charlton "lets roll over and let Millwall rub our tummies" I've seen in the last 20 years - that was your best effort so far <ok>

That is the easiest victory we will have this season!!

Edit - We play you again in a few weeks so might not be the easiest <ok>

Jokes aside my old cocker, two poor sides out there last night. The difference was your players had some bollox and fight, ours didn't.
Don't be getting your Championship Route Planner out just yet mate <cheers>

For the second game in a row every single player was poor. Even our POTY-in-waiting, Big Josh. If Konsa is being flogged off it won't do his sale value much good if he's played out of position.

Yep, a lovely mixture of the inept - Fox, the past it - Jackson, and the lazy and bone idle - Ajose and Lookman.

A winning combination.

I had high hopes when JJ was playing DM and still think there could be something there. Unfortunately when it's teamed with Crofts it becomes all too easy for the opposition.

We have been saying that all season. Every team in League One has outgunned us in midfield this season- Peterboro passed us off the park- even MKD and Chesterfield had better midfields than ours. It is so bad its laughable.

Thora Hird would get a game in our midfield, and she has been dead 10 years.

Even when we win the ball we don't know what to do with it. There were times last night when Fox was given so much space that it seemed they wanted us to pass to him because they knew they'd get it back straight away.

i watched the stream of it. p1ss poor really. we have no real game plan and the players who have come in for those injured are so weak. we'll finish this season in the lowest position we've ever finished.

not sure what to make of KR. no manager has a chance under this regime. would usually appreciate a young manager being given a chance but he seems to have bought their spiel about how they really are trying to do their best for the visitors of se7 - so for that, i kinda want him sacked too.

Never heard of that idea, asking players to write down what's wrong. Like putting them on the naughty chair. Can you imagine Lennie or Curbs doing that? Me neither.

If Curbs was still in charge (and after the last two team performances) most of the players, Big Meg and Dills excepted..... would now be parading two ar5es after Curbs had ripped them new ones!

My thoughts on Lookman and why he seems to be playing badly...

As I see it, when Holmes was playing on the right the opposition had to worry about both flanks and so could only afford to double up on Mola..... with Holmes out the opposition can afford to double/triple up on Mola because they know there is no threat on the right wing.

Me, I would like to see Regan Charles-Cook given another go in centre mid as his inbred confidence and young legs could give us the added threat in the middle.... I'm not sure why he hasn't been given a chance earlier in the season? perhaps injury?

I think Lookman is suffering from a basic lack of motivation now. Watching him closely v Posh and Millwall, his body language and low work rate screams out that he is saving himself from injury. His agent would have been keeping up to date on what clubs are offering him to sign for them. Why would he put his body on the line in a crunching 50/50 on Boxing Day when Meire has already told Rich Cawley that he is "highly likely" to leave in January?
