Okay while on the computer, Millwall H next. Big one.

Millwall appear to have picked up of late - great win over Forest today. Interesting one.

We sit 10 points behind Millwall, lose this and it's absolutely game over to catch them. No chance. Win and would drag them back in slightly..........

Are we good enough to win when we have to? We ideally need back to back wins - this squad - two on the bounce !? Crikey ...... looks an ask......

Heart says win, head, draw. Why all of a sudden are we going to win a crunch tie? 1-1.

Need 2 wins from next 2 home games. With that in mind, why not start with 2 up front - Harrison & Jackson. Will leave us weaker in midfield/ defensively but we have to score goals to win games

I almost want us to try something suicidal like a 3-1-4-2

Edwards Nolan Downes Kenlock
Sears Harrison

We do need two up top to give us a chance of scoring, couldn't care less about the defence at this stage. We're shipping goals anyway and don't have many options to change it around so may as well just give it a go at the other end and try to keep the opposition team away from our net that way. Kenlock can produce some decent crosses and has more ideas in the final third than Jonas.

Can't see Knudsen playing for us again, he's off in January and we're making sure he doesn't get injured. His sale will be the only available funds for PL who will likely be told that ****face Evans is not going to risk spending Championship level amounts of cash on a team that is all but confirmed as relegated.

I'll go for a 1-1 draw for this game, it won't be enough to stave off relegation, Lambert won't get much business done in January and we won't get the necessary funds to compete at League One level next season.

Back to back relegation anyone?

When was the last time we actually owned a decent winger under Evans

I'm struggling to think of anybody.

Civelli - major injury, no real minutes played
Sumulikoski - nope
Carlos Edwards - one of the last who could get past someone and deliver a ball to the centre
Martin - nope
Shane O'Connor - nope
Jaime Peters - not really
Andy Drury - nope
Josh Carson - nope
JET - nope
Alex Henshall - nope
Stephen Hunt - was ok compared to many others
Paul Anderson - better than many we've owned recently
Cameron Stewart - nope
Ward - nope
Rowe - not done anything of note yet but barely used


Looking back through the squads from 2008 as I have just done to compile this list makes for depressing reading.
 
I honestly can’t see us beating Millwall. If you said I would be saying this last season, I’d laugh at you. But it’s true. I don’t think we know how to win games. Once this team concedes, it cannot win a game (bar that win against a gung-ho Swansea side). We struggle to even take leads against sides, and we’ve played some dross this season. Those four or five sides above us have also been stinking out this division, but not to the extent we’ve been.

We have a worrying tendency this season of going two goals down before we start getting chances, typically when the opposition take their foot off the gas. As mentioned on a separate thread, we are a soft touch. Millwall and Rotherham won’t be scared coming to a place where the home side have only won a few times in all of 2018. I honestly won’t be surprised if we get one or two points over both games.

A root and branch reform of this club is needed, as San Diego stated elsewhere. Get this clueless owner out who has overseen a decade of decline and a solitary play off season. I seriously hope he sells up if we get relegated. Evans doesn’t give a monkeys anymore. The fact we are shopping around for loans in January tells you everything you need to know about this poisoned, asset-stripping owner. We need a Director of Football and a playing identity. Let’s get with the times, we should not be an exception to how football is changing. We should continue blooding our youth players. Downes, Lankester, and Dozzell are showing more fight and inventiveness than the more senior midfielders. Let’s get the likes of Wolfenden, Nydam, Folsom, and Morris involved when we get them back.

By all means try two up front, we need some sort of change. Bring in talent, any talent, in January to help this team and offload the sheer number of below-par players we have here. Lambert needs to start playing more creative players because we simply don’t create enough.

San Diego, I don’t think we will suffer back to back relegations. But on current evidence, this lot aren’t going to go straight back up next season.

Not a bad starting eleven, better than what we put out currently.

If it was me, I’d take that formation and would put Downes in the Chalobah role and have Dozzell in the midfield, simply to help us create something. I’d probably give Bishop a shot ahead of Nolan and play Lankester instead of Edwards. Ideally, I’d have Spence out the first eleven and have Knudsen in that left central defensive position, where he played well last season. But as you say, I don’t think Knudsen’s head has been with us over the course of this season, he’s been poor for months now.

We have a DoF, Nuggets, Dave Bowman is listed to hold that position.

I agree that Evans has lost interest in the ownership of ITFC. He's continually made profit on players and consistently invested less than the incoming revenue on replacements. Everything about that dickhead screams cost-cutting. Inside the ground, outside the ground, the staff and the team are all run on the bare minimum.

I can't wait until he finds a buyer.

I wasn't planning on Jonas being available, I believe that we've seen the last of him. I did think about putting Lankester in place of Edwards as Gwion has been gash for weeks now. Not sure I'd risk playing two lads that haven't played many minutes in the middle though. The way I saw it was that Downes and Chalobah could rotate their position as needed. Trevoh has a decent shot on him and I wouldn't want to restrict him from getting forward. Personally I'd rather see Donacien in place of Spence but I agree with Westy that we won't be seeing him again either, another opportunity to save money.

With respect to Dave Bowman, the man is a glorified Head Scout rather than a traditional Director of Football. Hurst’s transfer business this summer seems to have put paid to the idea that Bowman has much, if any, input in transfers.

Tend to agree SD, we have nowt to lose but going flat out on attack, which might just produce a goal or 3 and inspire us to capitalise on the promising glimpses we have had of a higher standard in recent games, for several decent spells in each match. If we could get Barts confidence back too, with an aggressive display from front 2-5 players going forward. Just saw highlights of Rangers beating Celtic, wow, what an eyeful of constant attacking play down all channels, the sides, the lines, completely bamboozling the Greens. Who saw that result coming? Didnt we have an option on Stevie Gerrard/ Hah bloody Ha!

Is he pro-actively looking for a buyer? Will he jump ship, dig the turf up and handover to any Jack the Lad who likes to 'own a club, any old club for status & self-interests, money-laundering etc! Or, is it time for a huge Evans Out Campaign to start in the New Year? I would be up to help with effective project planning & organising with supporters Club etc, press, forums etc. All meat & 2 veg for me to get the b....tard out and away from Suffolk.

I didn't say he was any good in the role, just that he's listed as being a DoF :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He clearly does none of the tasks that the title requires.

Sumulikoski was a CM but I fully get your point re owning a decent winger under Evans. Bit of a headscratcher isn't it......

Carson had a lot of promise I thought early on, but a Jack Marriott pre season and a leg break post leaving us has finished him effectively. Shame.

3-4-1-2 may be a decent shout - however Edwards at RWB would be comedy gold. Zero positional sense.....!

I get the point re 2 uptop - or something more attacking - we're sooo pants at the back, would all out attack be a good way around it!??! Unsure - we cannot score in a brothel.

Makes you wonder though.
 
Big Time Charlie Knudsen can go as far as I'm concerned, he's come out with crap such as " it's up to my agent whether I move or not " er no it isn't it's the players decision, his performances have been poor so I don't know where he thinks the golden egg lies.
Hes a country mile short of Prem standard so that's not likely so that leaves a Championship Club but whose left back situation would he improve ? He arrived from a tin pot Danish Club for £200.000 so that leaves £ 10M 800,000 left from the Mings deal, i wonder how much Evans would spend on a replacement ?

He's done my head in aswell Field - banging on about his new contract. Get a grip man! We have no idea what we can offer you as we don't know our budget yet. Sooner that twonk leaves for me the better - he's not pulled up trees this season.....

Thing is Field - while I'm not a fan, I never thought Damien Delaney would make a good CB - so until he goes to a Premier side and fails ( if he got one ) you never know it might click elsewhere.

Might get £500k now with it being late - we cannot afford to not take it and get him off the wage bill too. Cheerio. Decent player but his new contract saga has made me dislike him no end.
 
You can’t blame the guy. Why should he have any loyalty to our shambles of a club? He is a promising talent, as I’ve said before he is likely to go on to shine at a top Danish club.

At any well run club this would have been sorted out in the summer.
