Who'd have thought it- mid-table mediocrity a success. Shows what a state we were in. After Apples' last stand I was on the train home when a fan shouted He's Gone! and agreat cheer went up.
Was that the first confirmed sacking or the second one ?

All victories matter to a team that has lacked confidence for a large part of the season

If they matter to the team then all well and good.
They may matter to some fans as well. Fair enough, we all have different outlooks. Would be a dull world if we didn't.

My point is, when it matters regarding promotion / play-off chances, Charlton have failed to deliver for four straight seasons.
We have never even been in the mix to nick 6th place.

Unless that changes we're still in decline, attendances will drop further and we will be in ever increasing danger of losing our ground.
A few wins at the dead rubber end of this season isn't going to change that.
The squad still needs massive improvement.

To return to the thread topic at least kind of;
How many of our players would get anywhere near Millwall's current team?
Or even their squad.
Even though they are perhaps too poor to stay in the Championship this season.

Who would had thought it at the start of the month that the Mighty Lions would be safe with two games to go?
Soon will be on the beach plotting another charge for the play offs next season<cool>
Any positives on the Charlton front for next season?<cheers>

I think Millwall, Charlton and Palarse (unfortunately) have.proved that they are well and truely established in the correct divisions.

All three Clubs did their best to drop down a division for three quarters of the season before thinking better of it <doh>

Whoever can keep the same Gaffer from August to May next year gets basic bragging rights <cheers>

After all, one of us isn't getting promoted :headbang:
One of us can't get promoted :steam:
And one of us wouldn't be allowed to be promoted <laugh> Even the Prem has some standards.

Palice could feel the heat next season, they would have had problems this season without the bottom four being so weak.

Hmmmm, Jones was reportedly interviewed by your lot this season.

To be honest, he can't have been much worse than the clown we got instead.

I thought that Jones was doing OK for you lot till I saw his 16 games have returned less points than Appletons first 16 games.

Thas Shockin juss shockin .

But what about Appleton's last 16?
Anyway, I'm glad you lot stayed up, we don't start next season on -6 points<laugh>
