I remember one Millwall fan not even watching the match for the last half an hour of the game. He'd picked out a Saints fan about 20 metres from him across the divide and was just standing up and making repeated stabbing gestures in his direction

Millwall are a club living on past reputation which is not what it once was. And they are **** on the pitch as well <laugh>

Rich, I hope you were on a wind-up, but I'll address your points anyway because I know there are a few insane people who genuinely do harbour those feelings.

So are the Police being accused of hurting people's feelings despite all the aggro that they have put up with doing a very tough job?

No, of hurting their bodies. Hence the stuff they wrote about unfair use of force. <eek>

What kind of country do we live in where one can seek legal redress or take out a civil lawsuit against the Police FFS!

Well let's put it this way, it would be a lot, lot worse if they were unchecked, untempered and unaccountable. Policemen are basically thugs in uniform most of the time who look for aggro like any other mental criminal does. Except they're legally allowed to do it (and wear a fancy hat), and when they throw people around illegally, they cover it up as best they can with vague legal loopholes, "lost" CCTV evidence, stereotypes, and fictitious reports.

I think some people need to go and read about Gestapo prisons and then get some persepctive...

That's the same as saying that Hitler was a saint because he didn't kill as many people as Stalin. Get some perspective!!!!1111!!

No. Use your common sense and see that there are Police in this country who abuse their power on a daily basis, and that every time people in power act in a corrupt way, that is immoral and shameful, and should be frowned upon. I'm shocked that Hampshire Constabulary have even released this statement to be frank, the Boys In Blue usually cover their backs and look out for their own in situations like this, especially where football fans are concerned.
