Considering he's nearly 6 foot 5 anyone thinks he's like a weak streak of piss? I mean for the pen he got out-muscled by Suarez who's about 7 inches smaller than him. I don't even rate the guy in the air that much either, he's ****e going forwards as well (46 games, 0 goals)

Been ****e for a few matches..Why doesn't Pardew add a little freshness to the squad?! Make a change or two! Thing's are getting stale!

I was going to add this to my earlier post, but for such a big guy, he never commands the box, and always seems to get outmuscled on and off the ball. Add in clumsy challenges, bad decision making, and having no tricks but his trusty backwards pass, I'd happily see him lose his spot in the starting XI.

You all do know that this is his first season in the prem <doh> and all things considered, he has done quite well, yes he is bound to have his bad games but this is a big learning curve for him, and i'm sure he'll become a better player for it.

Remember how badly Colo was in his first season? and this is a defender that has played for Atl. Madrid, AC Milan and Depor and now look at him, fricking awesome! :D

He hasn't really done well all thing considered really. I think he's been at fault for a fair whack of our goals this season. As mentioned earlier, he has one of the best CBs in the league next to him and Coloccini bails him out a lot. I think we'd concede a lot fewer goals if we had a half decent CB next to him. The worst thing about Williamson is that he seems to be regressing. He started well and has gone down hill. He still has the odd good game, but it's far outweighed by his bad ones and at this level it's simply not good enough, especially when he should be at the peak of his career

Williamson is the definition of "average at best" but I still don't think he was the worst player today. He cocked up several times but Enrique was worse and Simpson messed up everything he did - even his throw ins were pathetic.

Agree with the "average at best" description. His complete lack of finesse is excusable if you're defending solidly, but when he's making mistakes it just not good enough.

Samba in!!

Sorry but it will be a travesty if hes CB next season. If we're upgrading our attack then the defence needs to be up to scratch. We conceded far too many today and we have done all season.

Agree, where was all this relentless hate towards Williamson before today?

All over this forum for about the last 3 months.....

No it hasnt, there's people now and then saying they dont rate him but after today they all come out and say they've always thought he was ****. I remember a poll not too long ago where he was head and shoulders above Saylor in peoples minds.

I remember that, the poll before that was the other way round though. (p.s. always rated tayls above willo)

Fair enough, I still have far more confidence in Williamson than Taylor, but if he was that bad today then it's only fair Taylor gets a chance.

The Williamson poll was on the back of a great performance from him though, hard not to get a reactionary result in a poll after a match.

It was after the Villa game wasnt it? And you could say the same about the things on this article since its on the back of a bad performance from him.

As I've said though, didnt see more than about 5 minutes of the game today so if he was that bad Taylor deserves a chance. Sounds like he's not the only one needs dropping though.
