Just because he says he can't access his money, doesn't make it FACT.

Surely everybody knows this.

What he is worth on paper and what he can lay his hands on are two different things. A lot of people on here when they pass away will have estates worth over £250,000, value of house, pension etc. Doesn't mean they could actually splash out thousands of pounds in a cash purchase.

£250k isn't the same as £2b though is it. There's loads of ways he could fund massive signings.

That's obviously true, but once you're worth billions, it's relatively easy to lay your hands on big cash, if he wanted to throw £100m at it, he certainly could.

He layed his hands on some cash when he had to turn out his pockets to go through the scanner at one of his own warehouses.

A while back I saw something about loads of people who classed themselfs as middle class admitted they would struggle to pay a surprise 500 quid bill.

The point he was making his that because it is stated you are worth so much it doesn't mean that amount of ready cash is available as it is tied up in his companies and is the value of shares. So, though he is indeed extremely wealthy by normal standards he hasn't got the readies to compete with clubs which are being funded by countries or people like Abramovich.

Again I think that's just common sense to most people, I don't think many people believe someones net worth is just cash in the bank ready to be spent.

I was making a point there is a big difference between what someone is worth and what they can lay their hands on. Some people don't seem to grasp the point. They are the types who thing that if a shop sells sonething for £10 that is £10 in the pocket of the shopkeeper selling it.The only way he could fund massive transfers is sell shares in his company or borrow against it. Neither of which are particularly sensible things to do.

Sweet Jesus! Who thinks these things? Surely you're not trying to make out I do? I'm telling you Ashley can easily fund a successful EPL club.

He's worth £2b. Of course he can.
