A lot of the people moving to Kent & other places like it are coming from other parts of the UK.
They aren't all foreigners.
For decades now there has been a shift of young people from far off places where prospects are poor, to London & the South East.

All that should have been foreseen and planned for.
But the water companies didn't seem interested in anything except dumping untreated sewage & paying divvys & bonuses.
Really ?

Do please let me know where all these deserted towns are across the UK as herds of Brits migrate to Kent to find non-existent jobs. I grant you that Kent’s population is growing very, very slightly more quickly than the average across the UK (1.3% per year as opposed to 1.2% per year respectively), but that is insignificant.

I’m sure we could bandy stats around all day long, so instead I’ll ask two simple question - when did you last go shopping in a supermarket in or near Margate and when did you last have a stroll along a Broadstairs beach ?

I have done both in the last week and my experience is that a good 40% of people were not speaking English.

So yes, you are correct that “they aren’t all foreigners” but to try to suggest that inward migration from abroad isn’t a major problem for Kent (or the UK as a whole) and that it doesn’t impact things like water supply, is just plain wrong in my opinion.

I'm a left winger, the boats need stopping, and overall immigration needs heavily reducing, am I wrong? :emoticon-0138-think
There's more chance of me voting Reform than there is of Elfs outgrowing Robert Wadlow. Vote Reform get 1950's Tories, no thank you. :emoticon-0138-think

Then who will you vote for to stop the boats and heavily reduce immigration ? I’m confused. Are you just teasing me <wah> ?

The problem is who the fuke do you vote for ? too many extremes , I honestly just want the best for the country I was born in ,and for the people that were born here- whatever their colour or religion- but I don’t expect to be dictated to change from different cultures or religions wanting to live here :emoticon-0138-think

It’s absolutely criminal but called a bloody racist for calling it out :emoticon-0138-think
At least we know they won’t have any effect on the housing crisis, or overcrowded hospitals, or waiting lists, or GP practices, or crime, or prison overcrowding, or school classroom sizes, or congested roads, or segregated communities or mental health services, or the benefits bill, or young British girls being sexually assaulted.

They’ve all just come here to work hard and will pay for themselves 10 times over.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Farage had a rough time of it the other day doing the media rounds in the morning. Even right-leaning Nick Ferrari on LBC, who is usually his buddy, gave him a hard time over the £5m. He got severely rattled. I hadn't realised that not only is he the leader of Reform, he actually owns it.

£5M ? That’s nothing.

The 1,636 small boat arrivals in the last week alone will cost a lot more than that over the next few years.

Then there’s next week and next week and next week……..

If Farage can stop thousands of criminals coming here across the channel, he’ll deserve a hell of a lot more than £5M.

Remind me again how he's going to do that?

Remind me again how he's going to do that?
Simple.

Leave the ECHR jurisdiction
Scrap the UK Human Rights Act
Anyone arriving here illegally NEVER gets the right to stay here
Offshore processing of anyone who gets through
Ban the RNLI and Border Force from providing a taxi service across the channel
Surveillance in the channel and alerting French authorities when boats are detected heading towards UK waters. Interception of those boats before they reach UK waters if France doesn’t respond quickly enough (we only get about 5 boats per day so this is easily done with the Navy and Border Force doing what they should be doing and protecting the country).
Absolutely no benefits whatsoever, ever, for anyone who did get through.

That would very quickly stop 90% of attempts to come here because they’d be no point paying thousands of pounds to smugglers once you knew you’d have zero chance of staying here. Then the more difficult parts of that plan would virtually disappear because you’ve cut off the desire to come here.

I could go on……..
